I have one of these and love it! I had an early Jawbone, and this is so much better! It is nice to see your heart rate when you are active. One of the thing I love is that it tracks the flights of stairs you climb. It is nice getting “credit” for that!

Oh cool! Thanks for the great feedback Melissa! Good to know!

How do we know these are legit? And not fake?

Meh, someone is ALWAYS filing a lawsuit for the most frivolous things. Never have I seen where Fitbit has said that their devices are medically accurate. It is more of a guide and they even state that the HRs are not always perfect. To me, one would have to be incredibly foolish to believe in the complete accuracy of these devices. If they are going to get sued, then so should the companies that make the treadmills with HR monitors because they are usually way off.

I don’t think they should be sued but I got one at Christmas and sold it soon after because it did not accurately record my heart rate when active. It was way off and I rearranged it every which way. I also have a polar watch that records heart rate. So I compared the two. The polar watch requires a heart rate band around your chest which I don’t want to wear all day so that’s what attracted me to the fit I.At one point the polar recorded my heart rate at 160 and the Fitbit said 118. I do a lot of cardio so it would be great for someone who doesn’t do a lot of aerobic exercise. However if you do exercise and get your heart rate up and you want to track it, this is not for you. Also if you are carrying your child or anything in your arm where your arm isn’t free it won’t record those steps…after I noticed I was having problems I googled it and found many saying the same things.

Someone was selling this for $79.50 new and I used the 15 off coupon and got it at $64.50 😄
