Anyone have any experience with solar chargers? ?? Can it be plugged in normally as well?

We have several solar chargers (different brands) and they generally come with several cables and connect via usb to your computer for charging in addition to solar recharging. If you mean plugged in normally as in AC power, none of ours have AC adapters. These are handy things to have. I had just gotten mine when we had an ice storm and no power. I was using my phone constantly for facebook, games and skype, and that charger was a blessing.

I have this one in the 20,000mah I got for $20. It works great as a regular portable charger. I usually charge it via micro usb. The solar charging takes a long time to charge the whole charger – the specs and it says it can charge an iPhone (lets say 1800mah) to 50% after 8 hours in the sun. The whole portable battery is 20,000mah so 8 hours in the sun is only supposed to get 900mah, which is only 4.5% of the whole battery. But if you were going to take it camping yeah it should charge your phone.
Bottom line I’m very happy with it, I like that it’s durable and rainproof. But don’t expect to solely use it from the sun.
