If you’re getting an antenna for the first time, be sure to put in your address at antennaweb.org to see what channels you can get at your location, it tells you the distance from the broadcast tower.
I had a similar AmazonBasics antenna and they actually work! (as long as there are broadcast towers within the distance the antenna is rated for).
These antennas are handy for having an extra tv somewhere just for local channels without paying for another cable box.

Thanks so much for the helpful feedback Stephanie! Good to know!

I don’t have this model, but I do have a couple of other 1byone antennae. I can’t provide feedback on this model, but wanted to say I’m kicking myself for not cutting the cord sooner!!!! I’m one of those tv-aholics, and I finally took a deep breath and cut off my cable a few months back, and I’ll NEVER go back. My bill went from $150 to $50 a month (to keep the Internet).

AP – Thanks so much for your feedback! I feel like you. We are moving in the next month and I was thinking of going without cable to save money, but was thinking about how much of my beloved TV shows I might be missing! So, if I have two TV’s, do I need one of these antennas for each HD TV?

      • nydia

As long as you have the Internet you can get a streaming device like a Roku and suscribe to Hulu and/or Netflix and you’ll have A LOT of good TV to watch. We cut our cable last year and don’t miss it one bit. Saving about $100/month too!

      • Sara

Denise, I’m pretty sure you would need one for each TV unless you wanted to keep moving one between the two. I started with just one to see how well it worked, hooks right to TV and you attach the antenna to the wall – since I’m close enough to many towers it works really well so I got another for our second TV. 🙂

Sling tv has some of the best of the cable channels live. And it cost only $20. I just canceled our cable tv and my husband was complaining, so I paid Sling tv. We were paying $100 per month before.

      • Becca

I looked at Sling before & didn’t see many channels we’d watch, but may have to go look again. Thanks for the reminder😊

Does anyone have a good review on this? I am having a hard time finding a antenna that actually works. I cut the cord a few months ago (was paying over $200 for direct TV!) and got an Amazon fire stick for each television, and have subscriptions to Hulu, Netflix, Sling TV with add-ons (hbo, ShowTime) and I am now paying less than $50 a month! So much happier. I don’t care about local stations much, but my mom does when she comes over two days a week to watch my kids. I’ve tried a previous Amazon antenna (flat stick) and it just doesn’t work well. I got one with “arms” from Wal-Mart, same results. If anyone has a good antenna that works, please let me know! dejohnleslie at gmail. 🙂

The 50 mile antennae is $29.99. The 35 mile option is $17.99 for me.

    • Sara

Katrina, if you enter the code ZKE3U7E9 at checkout it brings the price of the 50 mile down to $16.99!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Were you able to use code ZKE3U7E9 on the 50 mile?

How many channels do most people pick up with these? I know it differs where you live, but looks like I would only get 4. My parents would get that many & they live in a much smaller rural area. Also, I know I’ve seen it asked before but any way to get team-specific NFL games? We’ve done Sunday Ticket with DirecTV the last few years but looking to drop DirecTV very soon. I know their contract with Sunday Ticket is up before too long so hopefully that will open it up to more people. But until then…

    • Peaches

You won’t get the NFL games unless they are broadcast on local network channels with just an HDTV antenna.

      • Becca

Oh I know, and we live nowhere near our team so not much luck there. I just was wondering what other people do for their football fix?!?😁

What do people do to watch the news when they don’t pay for cable? We also only have Amazon prime, Netflix, and Hulu. No cable here. But we watch our news online. My parents are thinking about getting rid of their cable but they always sit down and watch the news. Typically FOX News. And I’m having trouble finding a way for them to do that.

    • Peaches

The local news including Fox news should all be available as they are broadcast on the local networks such as ABC, NBC, CBS, etc. You can check sites such as https://www.receptionmaps.com to get an idea of the type of antenna you would need. Just type in your address and a quick glance will tell you how many stations you can expect to get with each type of antenna placement , i.e. ground, attic, roof.

  7. Molly

I can’t speak about this model but I have generic rabbit ears from Wal-Mart and get local stations crystal clear as well about 20 channels all together. I can’t justify paying for cable and really there’s a whole lot more to life than watching tv!

Can someone tell me where I enter the promo code? Thank you

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! You can enter the promo code when you head to checkout. You can add it on the “payment method” page or later at the last step of the checkout process before you submit your order. Hope this helps!
