Why is Mac so popular? I’ve never used Mac. Is it really that good? Superior makeup? Or just a brand name attraction?
It’s pretty great. Been a loyal fan of it. Has a great matte finish. Stays on for long periods of time. I use very minimal makeup but it’s my go-to. Definitely helps to go get all your colors put on by one of the makeup gals at a counter then you can just order online when these sales come up.
They have certain items that I love!! They’re gel eyeliner is fantastic along with there mineralized foundation!!
I think it’s both! I’ve been a MAC fan for about 10 years now, i do buy other brands of makeup form time to time, but still always end up coming back to MAC for their colors, formula and quality. I have a handful of brushes from MAC that i bought about 7 years ago when my husband and I got together and I still use them to this day and they’re all still in tact and look good!
I think mostly it’s the name. My 9 year old daughter comes home from school with kids talking about “they have MAC makeup”.
I’ve been doing pro-makeup for over 20 years and remember when MAC was independent before they sold to Estée Lauder. They use more pigment in their products than store brands and their products last forever. The closest you can come with store brands is loreal’s HIP line (for eyes) and Almay’s mascara is really good. Skip the foundation – Almay’s color change concealer combined with your face lotion makes the perfect liquid foundation and you can control the level of coverage you need. MAC’s brushes can only be rivaled by Studio Gear’s. My personal opinion: once MAC was bought by Estée Lauder, the quality decreased. That said, the studio fix powder is the only one I will wear. 15% off IS a big deal because MAC products rarely have a discount. HTH.

I work in retail so have been lucky to try different makeup lines with my discount. I was very surprised about the level of quality that MAC has: it’s a very very good value for its price point. Definitely worth the 15% discount!!!
