I think it is the best shopping website for second hand shopping. So here is my link if you want to give it a try….

    • Jenna

Collin, I have followed your blog for the past 6 years. This is the first and only time I have ever posted a referral link. I hope you except my deepest apologize that I missed your bottom paragraph, informing us that you prefer us to use our own Facebook and Twitter. It was an over site on my behalf and never meant to OFFEND your follower. Please except my apologies. I would delete my referral link if I could. Thank you.

  2. Laura

I’d be extremely greatful for anyone who uses my referral link!
Here’s $10 off by using this link:

Also, Happy Father’s Day to any Hip2Save dads!

  3. Ummm

Does anyone read the part where Collin says you can post YOUR OWN referral link on YOUR Facebook or Twitter account? Doesn’t look like it.. Give the gal some credit she works really hard..

    • Jackie

Agree… and Collin is so classy that she never even comments on this fact. She definitely deserves all the revenue her site makes. Thanks Collin and team.

    • jenny

      I know, right?!? Seriously people…

    • Jennifer

Oh, thank God we are all adults here and have the capability to make the decision whose link to use. I have seen previous posts were she has told people that they can post their own link. Just saying..🙄🙄🙄🙄

      • Ummm

The point is Jennifer that she’s asking people NOT to do it yet they’re clearly doing it anyways, but clearly you don’t get it.. It’s okay ☺️

        • Jennifer

What I’m trying to say, which must have flown over, was that in the past she was ok with it. People may not have noticed her updated policy. I have never posted a link. Don’t really care. I’m sure people appreciate you pointing out their error. Ok, everyone Ummm has nominated their self as the one to condemn your behavior. Better not make that mistake again and please read the post in full. Thank you for the passive aggressive public service announcement.

          • Ummm

            Welcome 😂

      • Jennine

We read what we want to hear. when she posts feel free to use your own link we remember it. But when she posts feel free to post on your own social media it’s ignored and looked past.

  4. Mommyto1

If I use one of the links posted do I also get the free $20 credit for new members to use as well? Thanks

    • laura

I am not sure how some people give $20 some $10 credit. I am confused too?

  5. Jessica

    https://www.thredup.com/r/2XKPKN

Please consider using my $20 link. Thanks 🙂
(Just a heads up, some of the links posted above are $10 links, make sure to check before you sign up)

    • laura

      Jessica why it is different?

      • Jessica

When you click on the link, a pop up will appear. It will say something along the lines of “….wants you to have $10/$20.” A $20 link will give you $20 off your first order versus a $10 link that will give you $10 off your order. Hope that helps, Laura.

        • laura

I understand that part but i am asking how come you and couple other offer $20 credit but some can offer only $10 credit? Does it different for every account?

          • Jessica

The link is from a different promotion period where $20 links were individually emailed out.

    • Jen

      Just used yours. Thanks!

  6. Amy

Last week they had 40% off your first order and I found Lucy brand yoga pants for less than $10 with my code. I did the biggest happy dance! They are usually $80+ in stores, I was able to grab 2, 2 dresses, 3 tops and a pair of jeans for the price of 1 in store Lucy pants.

  7. S.ann

Has anyone sent clothing in to them? I have some clothes ready to go but I’d like to hear if anyone has had an experience with this, good or bad?

    • Jenny

I sent them my very first bag back in the middle of May. I just got an email a month later saying that they will process my bag July 5. So expect a long wait. I have read reviews were people stated they did not get very much for their bags. The wwebsite states that they end up turning away 60% of the items they receive. So I don’t have high hopes.

      • S.ann

Oh, okay. I’m going to have to think about it. Thank you!

    • Brianna

I sent in a bag over 2 years ago of my daughter’s (2T) including some namebrand items with tags. They only accepted a few items for minimal payout and not all of the new with tag items. I never received an explanation of their choices or return of the non accepted items. I was a little disappointed because I was hoping to get my daughter some more clothes with the money I received. I haven’t sent anything since and I sell my daughters clothes myself now.

      • S.ann

Thanks for your feedback, I know what I’m going to do now.

    • Kara

I have- many times. It better than nothing- but pays very little. My items are new or like new and brand names and are usually always accepted.
I can write a blog post on my payouts per brand if you’re interested. I’ve sent in probably at least 20 bags.
Twice was so much better- but they sold out to Ebay and really left us customers hanging.

      • S.ann

If you could give a few examples that would be great! Thanks!

        • S.ann

Some of the brand’s I was going to send in were free people, splendid and Calvin Klein. All in good condition, some not worn at all.

        • Kara

          No prob-Here is my last payout;

Our specialists have carefully reviewed your bag. After examining each item, we’ve determined that the total upfront payout for the items we will be able to resell is $15.16.

Thank you for that! That’s very helpful! 🙂

            • Kara

              No prob!

          • S.ann

            thank you!

    • Sarah

I used them once. I was surprised by how long it took to process the bag, 30 days. I only sent in 12 items. Also, they took some items that were ok imo, and others that I thought were a definite didn’t get taken, like items they have onsite new with tags and passed over. So, was really surprised. I sell on eBay so I can do better there vs. thredup for me. The payout was just ok again, imo. My take away was, would rather purchase from them then sell to them. Plus it takes about 2-3 weeks for your payout to be redeemable as well, maybe that’s changed, but for me a lengthy time frame.

      • S.ann

        thanks!

    • Bethany

Sounds like I can do a lot better by taking things to my local consignment store! They evaluate clothing in front of you so you can take the rejects home with you. I would feel ripped off if they rejected my clothing and I didn’t get it back. Let me guess—-the reject clothes get donated to charity and they get a big tax write off! Although I would like to shop at the thrift stores in their town as I have a feeling that they reject good clothing, lol.

      • S.ann

I agree with you, or use the site offer-up for selling. (I like how you just send if off and don’t have to worry about it after that) I think it said for a fee they will send back the clothing they do not accept. I might do that.

  8. Laura

Thanks Colin! Used ur link and scored a like new maternity dress and maternity top for under $10 shipped! :))

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re very welcome!

  9. Jessie

Can the $20 be used to cover shipping?

    • Danielle O.

Looks like the $20 credit doesn’t apply to shipping. If your sub-total is less than $20, it will just deduct that amount, leaving you $5.99 to pay for shipping.

This is what I had and I decided not to go ahead and pay since I don’t like to return things that I cannot return to a store:

      Subtotal $14.47
      Discount Applied ($20) – $14.47
      Shipping $5.99
      Order Total: $5.99

  10. Mommyto1

Collin I used your link but my $20 credit isn’t showing up at checkout? Do I submit it then it will take off the $20 or should it apply automatically once at checkout? And can you combine the credit with a coupon code as well? Thanks.

  11. Erika

I absolutely love thredup! I have shopped with them several times and have loved everything I’ve ordered. On occasion an item won’t fit and returning is a total breeze. You print a shipping label from their site and send it back, simple as that. I’ve gotten high-end brands that I could never have afforded otherwise (besides the fact that I’m way too frugal to pay regular prices 😉). I’ve also sent in my old stuff in one of their “clean-out” bags. I only got $10.55 for the items they kept but I’m good with that. They donate the items they don’t keep to those in need. I highly recommend thredup!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So awesome to hear that Erika! Thanks for such great feedback! 🙂

  12. Likewater

FREE credit with my link, if anyone wants to use it, it will give me credit as well, we both win 🙂

Also, use coupon code “SUMMER” for extra 40% off

    LOVE Thred up!!

    • Ana

Did you not read the blog post? It clearly states not to post your referral link in the comments.

      • Likewater

        No, I don’t see that.

  13. Rebecca C.

Thanks for this post Collins 🙂 I used your link and got 2 shirts and a scarf for $5.99. Woohooo! I love deals!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Great score! You’re so welcome!

  14. Debra

It isn’t giving me free shipping when I spend over $50. Their home page states that you get free shipping on orders that are over $79. I even used your referral code to sign up for ThredUp. Am I doing something wrong?

  15. Nicole

I would shop with them but they do not even carry my size so I will just keep shopping on ebay and I can get more for my clothes on ebay than they are giving.

  16. Natasha Cline

Before I sign up, if I go through Amazon, can I pay with Amazon gift credit? How does that work?

  17. Tina

Thanks Colin! I got 8 pairs of slack for $20. An excellent deal!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet deal Tina! You’re welcome!

  18. raea

i have used another’s link, please use mine!!!

  19. Natasha Cline

Just placed my order with someones $20 off code… dunno who ya were, but if you get credit, it probably went through today 😛 I managed to snag up 4 pairs of size 8 dress pants, and 2 blazer dress tops for the $20 credit and just pay $5.99 shipping. Allegedly I saved $470…. hahaha but anyway, if even one item works well for work, then it was WORTH $6 and if it shows up, I’ll be happy 🙂 Can always try to resell on my local yardsale site.
