I am always tempted by this but I have to get my frames adjusted a good bit to fit my crooked ears. Any advice?
As an optician I have to say that taking your glasses to a shop to be adjusted occasionally is fine, but doing so often is inconsiderate. The shop is making no money yet you are using the opticians skill and time. This goes double for nose pad replacements which actually costs us materials as well. I would encourage all who purchase glasses from these sights to consider this when buying glasses on line.
Is it OK to offer to pay for the time and services?
It’s very kind to offer but most shops will decline to accept payment. Most of us are happy to help, we know money is tight and you save where you can but for children/folks who’s glasses really get a work out it is better to pay more to have the piece of mind of a brick and morter that has your back 🙂
I found Costco to be very reasonable for my daughters glasses. She’s very picky and it was a process but we are happy with the results. And I was braced to spend hundreds but the frames & lenses where only $123 out the door. That was designer frames and top of the lines lenses with anti scratch coating etc. We could have spent even less if she picked a less expensive frame.
Oh cool! Thanks for sharing Tina!
