I can’t tell how many minutes it comes with. Anyone know?

I believe you’ll have to buy minutes separately. It may come with a few for activation, but it looks like it does not include a minutes card. I have one of the moto phones with tracfone and love it. This is a great price too! 🙂

As near as I can tell, it doesn’t come with minutes, so you’ll have to buy the Tracfone cards and add the minutes on. This is a good phone, but it is a model from 2014, so there are faster Tracfone-enabled phones out there. I have used Tracfone for years, because I rarely use my phone, so it has been a tremendous savings over traditional phone plans for me. If you are a heavy phone-user, the minutes will prove too expensive over time. You can get Tracfone deals from both HSN and QVC that include the minutes and the minutes are good for one year and rollover (if you re-up by purchasing a minutes card). The home shopping channels always have the phones for purchase on their sites and make them a “today’s special” about every 3 months. QVC just had a special about a week ago, so HSN should be due within the next month. Oh, one more thing: get a quad-core Tracfone (much faster).

Thanks for such helpful feedback Deb!

How does the triple minutes feature work?

    • Deb

For example, if you buy a 60 minute phone card, you are credited for 180 minutes.

While we’re (sort of) on the subject …. can anyone recommend an inexpensive phone/plan that will work with the ibotta app? I currently use an old “dumb phone” but am thinking about moving up to a smart phone. I rarely actually make phone calls… mostly do text messaging with the family.. but want to be able to do some of the coupon/rebate stuff — I’m missing out on a lot of deals! I picked up an inexpensive phone a while back but its operating system wasn’t new enough for ibotta. I am with Verizon now, but my contract expired long ago. Thanks for your input.

I recommend checking out Total Wireless (available at Walmart) and getting a Samsung S3 phone (about $150 or so). Monthly it’s $35 for unlimited minutes and text with 3 gb data. Or you can go for the $25 a month plan and add on 3 gb data for $10. The add on data never times out so if you only use a little it will last months. My boyfriend has had this plan for over a year and it’s wonderful. He had a verizon plan before. I’m switching when I can afford the newer phone. The s3 does ibotta with no issues. Also… the Moto e in this post will not do ibotta as it does not have an auto focusing camera. 😉
