I have a race coming up. What are people’s experiences with these shoes?
A similar but older model of these Mizunos are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. But they really messed up my ankles when I ran in them.
If you’re getting serious about running you really need to visit a sporting goods store or runner’s store that does custom fitting. Look for one where you actually run and they check your gait and whether you heel strike. Sometimes this costs but they give you a credit towards buying shoes from them. Then you know which shoes are best for you and can look for good deals in the future. 🙂
It’s worth getting fitted for running shoes so they don’t cause injury, but at this price the Mizunos are nice just to wear for fun and for walking.
Thanks! I will be using these shoes for race walking so you think these would work?
Probably. Walk around the house with them. I think Amazon has free return shipping.
It’s so hard to say. What one person loves, another hates and vice versa. Read some of the reviews on Amazon, and I’d advise ordering a bigger size (maybe a half size bigger?) than you usually wear. The reviews say these tend to run small and that’s been my experience with Mizunos as well.
Also there are quite a few reviews at Roadrunner Sports (https://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/products/02126/womens-mizuno-wave-sayonara-3/). One of them is from a race walker who said they were great for short races but not for long ones. Might want to check out what that person has to say. Good luck!
Thank you Jenny!
