Thanks, sounds like a great deal. Is this for new customers obly? I’d like to pass this on to my sister and she is already enrolled.

I’ve been seriously considering this for my little one who starts PreK this year. I think $5 is worth the try. Anyone done this? Is it easy to cancel? I know there are plenty of other offers, so I don’t want to pay the $7.99/month. Thanks!

I am really interested as well for my preschoolers. There are a lot of positive reviews about the service. However, I also read a bunch of reviews by people who had a terrible time attempting to cancel. Sounds a lot like the Fabletes subscription complaints. Canceling does not mean canceling. Your credit card may continue to get charged. Customer service complaints galore. So, if you are willing to put up with the potential frustrations, it’s a good deal. I decided to look elsewhere.

I signed up for a free trial last month. When I went to cancel today I was offered 12 months for $29.95 (when I was asked to reason for canceling I checked off price concern). My four year old and seven year old both love ABC Mouse and at $2.50 a month the price can’t be beat!

If they would give me 12 months for $30, I’d just pay that in full. Hoping they will offer me this deal too!

Oh cool! Thanks so much for the feedback Erica!

I’d like to try this for my 4 year old. I am interested to hear what others have to say about it, as well. TIA!

My son did ABC mouse when he was 5. He’s a June baby so we held him back and he started kindergarten at 6. Here kindy is all day. Anyway, he loved ABC mouse and would beg to play. He actually chooses it at the library often, even at 7. At first I had to help him a lot but it didn’t take long for it to be something he could do on his own. As for learning value, I’m not certain he learned anything but I would say it doesn’t hurt. There were times the site was glitchy and my son would get irritated. His favorite part was earning coins to buy things for his pets. I had no problems canceling after our year, I then renewed for 3 months (over the summer) and again no problem’s canceling. At this price I think I may do it again for my 4yr old.

They earn coins by completing ‘educational’ tasks.

Thanks so much for the feedback Julie!

I mentioned this in a post a few days ago, but thought it was worth repeating for those that may not have read it. I signed up for a free one month trial, but chose not to renew the subscription because it requires wifi for all activities and it uses A LOT of data! (Lots of games, songs, books, and videos to load!) We don’t have an unlimited data plan at our house, so this was a major issue. Just thought I’d mention this just in case anyone else has limited data each month. (As a side note, I read Verizon will soon offer an unlimited plan. Finally!!)

Thank you for this amazing comment! Everything you said pertains to me as well.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for sharing Brooke! Good to know!

    • Jennifer

Same for me! Thanks for sharing!

    • Amy

Thank you!!! I have been wanting to sign up but we have limited data…..now I know for sure not to do it….

I have a just turned 2 year old and I don’t see how this would benefit him. It doesn’t seem any different from his Leapfrog except that it costs money and uses data (which I have a limit on).

I purchased the last deal you posted for $45 for the whole year for my sons, ages 5 and 2 and I must say I absolutely love it! My 5yr old son wakes up every day and asks to go on it and my 2yr old son sits right next to him watching him play until it’s his turn, then I sit with him and supervise. I will also add that that my 5yr old has Adhd type 1&2 so this really helps him out a lot! I think my 2yr old does as well so this helps out tremendously with early intervention.

So glad to hear what a great experience you have had! Thanks for the review!

You’re Welcome! It was my pleasure. As a family of 7, things can get pretty expensive. You and your team have saved me tons of money and time with your hard work and dedication. Thank you for everything!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          You are SO welcome! 🙂

  9. Divs!!

I signed up for a free trial last month along with the assessment(feature within ABC Mouse). Me and my son absolutely loved this site. I cancelled the assessment feature yesterday but thought to keep the access to ABC mouse as my son got so used to this. $7.95 is lot pricey (with several options available for free), but ABC mouse is complete package with all types of activities , games and books….
Thanks for the post and all the comments. I saw the comment where they offered 12 months for $29.95 on cancellation. So I did the cancellation and got this offer on the very last day.

Thank you so much. Perfect timings. Helped us to save a lots 🙂
    Absolutely Love Hip2Save site.

I’ve also been debating on this for my 5 yr old and 3 yr old…. But we have an iPad and I always download the free educational apps every Friday from smartappsforkids.com so I’m not sure that this would be any better. I love that the apps are free.

    • martinne

I do same on friday from same website, but I heard abcmouse is much better.gonna try free trial soon tough.

We can play at our local library for free. It’s a learning tool that will work best if you work with your child. My daughter is 2 so we talk about colors, counting or numbers while we “play”.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How sweet! Thanks for the tip!

  12. Dee

Don’t forget about sites like PBS Kids! Free and educational!

  13. Aysha

Just a heads up…abcmouse and star fall are two free apps that come with kindle freetime…you can buy a kindle fire for $50 and it maybe be worth it just to get the free apps. I’m seriously considering this fo next year when my daughter turns two. The kindle has a slot for expandable memory, up to 128g, which means it won’t take up space on my iPad. I know freetime is free with the kids kindle fire.,but it is $100 …I’m going to see what the cost is in the $50 unit.

  14. Katie

my 3 year old is not a fan, but with $5/ 2 months it’s worth a try to see if your child likes it.
