I can’t thank you enough for sharing this information! I recently listed my independent insurance agency on Angie’s List. I was able to list it for free, but didn’t actually have full access to the reviews, etc. In light of this news, hopefully I’ll get more business as consumers no longer have to pay an annual fee. Thank you again!

    • Angela (Super Saver Sidekick)

That’s awesome Jess! Good luck! 🙂

FYI this site is totally skewed. People can complain for free about a business, but the business is charged a $100+ to respond to an allegation. I was in a management trainee program and we always received letters offering us the opportunity to respond to allegations for a fee. Not a legit review site in my opinion.

Hi Laurel, Thank you for your honest review! 🙂

I joined a few years ago for super cheap. And I get emails from them every day about responding to listings. Providing feedback on companies that I’ve said I used but didn’t.
        I never use it.

Wow, that’s interesting! (and so sketchy of them!) Thanks for sharing!

My parents had a really bad experience with an A rated contractor. They had figured a way to get people to leave reviews before jobs were finished. My parents were out a lot of money because of it. They did get it back over a year later because they had used a credit card!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sorry to hear that! Thanks for sharing their experience Dana!

Worst company ever. You wouldn’t believe the turn over rate of this company. If you don’t brow beat people into getting or retaining a membership, you are fired.

I’m in marketing…they’re offering free memberships because their decline is so great. If you don’t pay enough to AL as a business, competitors can advertise on your page. Everything is very skewed. It’s not “honest” at all.

  13. Joann S

    thank you Collin ..

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are so welcome!

  14. Erin

We had a paid membership but I never found it useful. There were never any reviews for businesses I was looking for.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Thanks for the honest review Erin!
