Anyone have these? How difficult would they be for a toddler to use? Would they have to be able to bite the nozzle to suck the water out like the regular camelbacks?
My toddler uses these great! She sees brother and sister using them and of course wants to too.
Have one for my 5yr old and 2 yr old. They use them with no problems. Just make sure and clean the bite valve often with a bottle brush.
My son was drinking from one of these bottles before he was two. He’s always been good at drinking from straws though. You do have to bite/suck at the same time like you do with a regular camelbak. Really easy to clean- everything comes apart. My only suggestion is to buy the 4 pack spout replacements from Amazon. If your child is like mine, he will bite and chew the spout. They are silicone so they can be destroyed easily. It’s $10 for the four replacement spouts but better than buying a whole new bottle. With that said, it’s still a nice quality bottle. We’ve had ours over a year and it’s used every day.
The nozzle is much softer than the adult style….my kiddos have used these with no problems starting around 2.
My 18 mth old loves his. They’re easy to suck out of. I tried it myself. It’s easier than most of his baby sippy cups. He can get a lot more faster. Highly recommend!
My little one was 12 month old when started using them after watching her older sister use it.
Thank you for all the replies!!! What about cleaning? I’m actually trying to decide between buying these and some kids contigo water bottles at kohl’s that are on sale. Anyone have any experience with the contigo ones?
If you’re not sure about the camelbak one I love the Contigo that comes in the kid size. Usually $9.99 at Target or Kohls so you could stack it in with some other deal. You dont have to bite and they dont spill. Easy to clean. My son could use it at 20 months and knew how to close it. I got him one after he kept stealing mine all the time π
My son and nephews looove them! They range in age from 11 months-2.5 π
You can also buy replacements for the straw and rubber mouth part without having to get a whole new cup! They rock!
Oh awesome! Thanks for such great feedback! Good to know!
Yes they’re set up like a regular camelback. My son has one and he’s 2 and somehow figured it out easily. But he bites straws a lot anyway…haha!
Lol! Thanks for sharing Rachel!
Anyone else’s kids have a fascination with new water bottles? We have a huge collection of water bottles lol.
Yes!! Mine do too! My 3 year old would also switch cups 10x a day if I let him lol.
Does anyone know if these are dishwasher safe?
Yes, we put ours in the dishwasher with no problems π
Ok thanks!
My 21 month old uses this cup and hes okay with it. He doesn’t love it as much as a straw cup though. The spout is thicker maybe thats why but he still drinks from it
Thanks for the review!
Kohls used to have the ladybug one and a few other Camelback kids for $12, so $8.40 with 30% off. I see online they currently only have Rad Monster style, but they might carry others in stores.
My kids 4 and 2 have both done well with this spout style, but I find them REALLY difficult to clean. I take them apart and put in the dishwasher but I find mold grows in them quite easily and it just grosses me out to find my kid has been drinking out of a spout filled with mold. And good luck trying to clean out the mold. Ick! And it’s kinda hard to see inside the spout to check if it’s moldy. I like the contigo ones that don’t have the straw and rubbery spout, but has the push button stopper (more difficult for younger ones but much cleaner as all you have to do to clean it is flip the lever on the underside of the lid).
Sorry to hear they are so hard to clean! Thanks so much for the honest review!
I was just telling my husband how we had to get our son a water bottle before he starts preschool in August. Perfect timing! Ordered two π
My 12 and 16 month old granddaughters drink from these. We click it opened for them (tho the 16 mo old is learning to) but they suck it up just fine π
We easily have 10+ of these for both our boys to use for school. I have replaced the spout on some. I run all pieces thru the dishwasher after each use. I am very strict about only using water in these and have never had mold in any of my spouts. If I remember correctly the bottle has a lifetime guarantee.
