I’ve already signed up for Walmart pay & used it. Could I still take advantage of this offer considering the fact that I’ve already use Walmart pay?

    • Amy

I was wondering the same. I have made several online and in store purchases with it already. I love this!

      • Rachel

for the $5 gift card you have to have register on Walmart Pay, and use it In-STORE to pay for a purchase TODAY. when you go through the checkout in store, there will be an option to pay via Walmart Pay on the POS screen. This will make a QR code to appear on the credit card scanning device.
Open up your walmart app, and select Walmart Pay. That brings up a QR code scanner. Once the QR code on the POS screen is scanned, you are all set to go.
You will have an electronic receipt (for future returns etc.), and you will also be prompted at the end of the transaction to submit your receipt to savings catcher. With paper receipts you have to scan your receipts to put them into savings catcher. With Walmart Pay it happens seamlessly.
If you get a refund from your savings catcher submission, it will be added to a Walmart egiftcard on your account. The $5 offer will also be added to an e-gift card to your account by the stated date. The next time you checkout using Walmart Pay, the money on all your walmart egift cards are used up first, before charging the balance to your credit / debit card.
If you are an existing Walmart Pay user, you can still get the $5 offer (i think!) – Just use Walmart Pay in-store today. I am going to go to the store and make a purchase today to see what happens!.
Note – for new Walmart Pay users, it will save you a lot of time if your register and get yourself set up prior to checking out because you will need to provide credit card information etc. (if you have a walmart.com account, and your account is already linked to a credit card, only register / set up for Walmart Pay, and the card linked to your Walmart.com account is what will be used for your Walmart Pay account). The credit card info is not saved on your phone etc. it is what is used on your walmart.com account.

        Hope this helps!

If you haven’t used Walmart pay in store, just a heads up..You don’t get a paper reciect & I wasn’t given the option either. You get an e-reciect which can be found in the app. You have the option to submit your reciect to savings catcher, but you can’t submit your receipt to other rebate apps since you don’t get a paper receipt.

    • katrina

If it’s in savings catcher, you can pull up the image of the receipt and use another device to take a picture of it ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Amy

I guess you can ask the cashier. They have the option to “reprint” receipt and it will be paper, supposedly. I haven’t tried but that’s what it says on the walmart pay page.

      • pandoraaddict

Good thought, but if it says reprint, and/or on a regular sized paper most rebate apps won’t accept, as it’s not the original.

        • Amy

Ahh I didn’t know that. I don’t use those apps, just savings catcher

    • Natasha Cline

Does this cause issues when walking out of the store? I like the idea… but my Walmart has a guy who highlights and checks off receipts as you go out… What if I wanna buy a tv? ๐Ÿ˜€

When I click on the link and go to the Walmart site, in very small, blurry text on the banner I think it says “Online purchase required on 7/7/16. Gift card emailed by 7/17/16.” Does anybody else see this? If so, would we still get the giftcard if we did this today? Anybody have success?

    • Amy

Mine says the same but with the dates 7/16/16 and 7/26/16 instead of those

  4. Melissa

Do we have to pay with our online purchase with the Walmart Pay app somehow or just pay separately and sign up for the app on the same day? I can not figure out how to pay for the online purchase with the Walmart Pay app. Thanks!

  5. Allie82

I got the email it said must make an online purchase today 7/16/16 and receive the gift card before 7/26/16. I downloaded the app and just bought nestle strawberry syrup I needed anyway.

    • Rachel

Amy, it needs to be an in-store purchase today using Walmart Pay in the store.

  6. Julie

Must it be in store purchase?

    • Rachel

Yup – in-store purchase today paid for using Walmart Pay.

      • Rachel

Never-mind just read the fine print saying online purchase qualify! so looks like you can make a purchase via the app to qualify for the promotion. Just in case, I am going to make a purchase through the app, and go in-store and use Walmart Pay too ๐Ÿ™‚ – I need to get some bananas!

  7. Jessie

Why are you saying in store purchase when it says online purchase clearly above?

    • JeNjEn

      That’s what I’m wondering!?

Above it states, “Get a $5 eGift card when you sign up for Walmart Pay and make a online purchase today”

  8. Rachel

Never-mind just read the fine print saying online purchase qualify!
so looks like you can make a purchase via the app to qualify for the promotion – I was confused because both actions (walmart Pay register / online app purchase) are unrelated….can’t pay for online purchase via Walmart Pay…

Just in case, I am going to make a purchase through the app, and go in-store and use Walmart Pay too ๐Ÿ™‚ – I need to get some bananas!

  9. Cheyenne

How are you making the online purchase I can not figure it out.

  10. Trac Judy

    I need free money now

    • Mel

      don’t we all ๐Ÿ˜€

  11. heidi

This offer popped up on my phone this morning on my Wal-Mart app notification. It did say it was for an ONLINE purchase made today through the Wal-Mart app and for signing up for Wal-Mart Pay.

  12. Jessie

Lol at Trac Judy. Such a simple but made me actually smile :D!

  13. JeNjEn

Has anyone received their $5 yet? I haven’t received mine. Just curious!

  14. Rachel

    I received my $5 today!!!!
Got an e-mail from Walmart with subject Here’s a $5 eGift Card!! –
It was also automatically loaded to my Walmart account – shows up in my Walmart app, when I go to my account, and select payment method!!

    • Laura

Did you make you purchase online through the app? I haven’t received anything yet.

      • Rachel

I made a purchase online on walmart.com (free store pickup), and did not use the app. I also registered for Walmart Pay and used it at the store for a separate purchase on the same day. The fineprint for this deal said the $5 could be expected by the 26th – so yours might just be a few days away!
