I signed up for a college membership account this morning to get the promo code. I received the welcome email, but no promo code. I contacted Best Buy and was told that the promo code was automatically generated and would be emailed “when available.” I clarified as to whether I would receive the promo code today in order to use it with this deal and the customer service person said that she could not ensure that I received it today. Now I have to wait around and hope that I get the promo code today before the deal is sold out. So frustrating!!

The good news…I received the promo code and placed the order! The bad news…something about Best Buy’s system triggered a fraud alert with Chase, which denied the transaction, and the promo code is unique so it can’t be used twice even if the first order was cancelled. The great news…I called Chase immediately so that they could allow a future purchase from Best Buy to go through. I then immediately called Best Buy and they were able to approve the transaction because the order had not yet been officially cancelled on their end. And now I rest after that stressful morning.

Can you use a regular email instead of an edu email if you are a high school student?
I think it has to have an “edu.com” e-mail & then it will go through. Hopefully you have that–good luck!

I missed the Macbook deal you posted a few weeks ago and I was so bummed. I’m glad I waited because this deal is better! You can’t beat $699! My daughter is going away to college in a few weeks and I was going to let her take my Macbook, but now she will have her very own. I am so extremely thankful and grateful for your website. Ever since I discovered it a few years ago, it’s the very first website I visit every morning! With all the money I have saved, it has allowed me to send my daughter off to a 4 year University. I was able to get the refrigerator for $29.00 last night:). When I woke up this morning and saw this deal my daughter and I quickly ordered this MacBook for $799 with store pick up before they ran out. Somehow we missed the extra $100 off with the student coupons. When she went to pick up the items, the store was able to apply the coupon and they lowered the price to $699:))).
