Does anyone know if this would work on a 2ds?

    • Laura

I was wondering the same thing. Several of the reviews under the yellow version say they play it on their 2ds. Has positive reviews on all three versions. Hth

      • Hailey

Since the 2ds is a higher model then the 3ds then it should work!

        • Heather C.

Actually 3DS is a more advance platform than the 2DS. But the answer is yes, you can download 3DS games onto your 2DS. 🙂

    Yes it will

  3. Laura

Yes, 2D or 3DS it’ll work. I just starting playing the Red version again (I used to play it as a kid…now I’m 30), I bought it the other day for $10, wish I waited could’ve saved a couple dollars. Lol. My hubby and son love Pokemon Go, myself I like the older Pokemon games. Anyone else?

    • Katie

Yes, Laura! I’m kicking myself in the butt because I sold my gameboy color to game stop a long time ago and subsequently gave my pokemon yellow game to my cousin since I had no way of playing it. I enjoy playing pokemon go with my son but it has me itching to play the good ol gameboy version. If my son had a ds I would totally buy the game!

      • Katie

I still have mine and let my 6 year old daughter play and within 2 minutes she complained about the screen being too dark compared to her 3ds. 😯

      • Laura

Yes the good ol Pokemon will always be my fav! I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that way! Lol!! I thought I was just too old stuck in those days! 😂😂 I seen Walmart had the 2DS for $79, when we got my son his we paid over $100 for it. Not sure if that’s something you’d like?

    Got for my husband 😂

Sweet! Happy you could score one for him! 😉

Can someone suggest which one to buy for my six-year-old son on his 2DS?

    • Heidi N

My son says yellow would be best for a 6 year old.

      • Jen

And yellow is the only one you can get Pikachu in

        • Julianna

You can get Pikachu in all three of these games, but yellow is the only one that he will follow you around in.

    • chrissy1925

      Thanks for all the responses!

Can anyone tell me the difference between these versions? Do you need all 3 or are they the same game. Sorry I’m totally new to Pokemon, but I think my son would like these.

    • Julianna

They made it so you couldn’t catch certain pokemon on each version, which would encourage trading with friends who had a different version. They are essentially the same games though. Yellow has a few more features than the others, since it was a newer version of the other two, and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn’t played the older pokemon games before.

Now, can I purchase one and download on both my daughter’s and my son’s 2DS?
