*Please note that you must make a $5 purchase in order to take advantage of the 1¢ deals – while supplies last and no rainchecks.

Be sure to check out the deal idea below to see how you can score a whopping 21 School Supplies for right around $5…

Is this the best deal available for 3 tinge binders? I’m putting together 70 back to school kits for refuges and I need 3-ring binders for each of the kits. I also need calculators for them too if anyone knows of a good deal on those id be very greatful!

    • Monique

      3-ring binders 😜

    • Jenn

$1 for binders is pretty good. After school I did find like 3-4 packs of binders for $2 last year at Walmart but that’s just by luck. Target & Walmart both will discount school supplies in the next 3 weeks. I just stocked up for our Christmas shoe boxes & working on soldier stockings!

    • Erin

Last year, Walgreens had colored three ring binders for .25. As for inexpensive calculators, try checking Target’s dollar spot and dollar stores. I feel like I’ve seen them there.

If you don’t have either of these stores locally, will Staples or Wal-Mart match the sale? Thanks!

    • Jenn

Most Walmart stores will NOT price match as of August 1st! 😩 little signs at Customer service

      • Denise

check your walmart — I did a price match at walmart for the last deal that Collin posted for office max / office depot, because my 2 stores were sold out. I had the flier with me. They didn’t bat an eye when I showed them, just adjusted down — I am in Florida

If you aren’t aware, you only have to buy items that total $5 REGULAR PRICE to get the penny deals. Even if it isn’t $5 worth with sale prices. They often have $1 items that usually cost over $5, so one of those would work! πŸ™‚

Just an fyi it is currently teacher appreciation days so teachers get an extra 25% off with the coupon they have in store. I was able to use it to bring my total down to 3.82! And bonus got a reusable shopping bag!

      • Stefanie

Yes, I did this as well! PLUS I got a 20% off coupon/card valid for the next few months (and reusable!)

        • Renae

Yepper! I felt the need to share my HIP knowledge with another teacher in the store because it wasn’t well advertised where I was at πŸ˜‰ .19 crayola markers heck yeah!

          • Lee

FYI my walmart let me match the Crayola markers for 25 cents and I asked the manager if I could get a class set (20) and he said no problem. Best deal of Back to School yet!!

    • Dawn

Thanks Stefanie! That’s very useful information to know. πŸ’—

    • Sophie

YMMV on this one! My store requires the $5 purchase even though the register will ring up the .01 deals without it. The cashiers won’t let you purchase it without spending $5.

    • kks

i tried buying $5 gift card for penny deals , but cashier said i have to buy some product worth $ 5. they cannoyt give penny deals if u buy $5 gift card.

And if you bring in an old binder then you get $2 off a new one, which makes the $1 dollar ones free or, if you find clearance ones, those made for $0.41 cent nice binders for me (reg. 9.99!). Plus the teacher discount!!

    • Doaa

I didn’t know about the old binder. Thanks!

  6. megan

  7. April

Are there any online deals? We live 2 hrs away from any of these stores.πŸ™

  8. Denise Barber

Thank you for posting these deals! I called Office Deport yesterday afternoon and the penny items as well as other sales items were gone. I suspected that might be the case as last week at 10 a.m. there were 6 people in line ahead of me before the store opened. I went to Walmart today and they gladly price matched for me – 3 bottles of glues, 3 composition notebooks, and 3 packs of markers for me with no problems at all (0.81 for all). Thanks again for all you do.

  9. jhnicole

I went today and was able to get 3 composition books for .01& 3 packs of the pencils for 1.00.2 packs of notebook paper for 1.00each and 1 pack of pens for .25 cents.I also went to walmart to price match all i found qas the glue&markers.Since my office depot was out of those.Success i’m happy. Thanks again.Looking forward to next week.I paid 5.24 at office depot. My hubby got some food at walmart &i got my school supply price match for like 80 some cents.

  10. Jennifer Ivie

So how long does this sale last

    • Lois

The sale ends on Saturday, August 6. Their sales run Sunday – Saturday

  11. Kelly Tennison

Is the penny deal only in store as I am trying to buy online and it won’t adjust the price?
