Sad to say my store refused my Bic coupons coz according to them those pens/pencils are already on sale. That’s why we coupon, we buy stuff that ARE already on sale + use coupons, right?

Stores make money on coupons. They are reimbursed the face value plus some, so you would think they would want us to use them….

The Office Max/Office Depot stores are supposed to be taking those coupons, and it does end up being free with the current sale. Our local store takes them, a manager just has to do an override of the system like they would for any other manufacturer coupon. I would say try the store again. If they refuse, either talk to the store manager or contact their customer service.

Mine will not allow coupons either.

I had the same experience this morning. Price matched at Staples and got a better deal.

One office max near me I have no issues using coupons and another gives me such a hard time. It’s quite frustrating I went this am and dealt with 3 diff people who had not a clue what was going on. The manager was so rude to me about using coupons and then wouldn’t let me get the 10 cent items bc my total was under $5 after using coupons.

As much as I love couponing I don’t like spending so much time in order to get a deal. After 10 minutes at the register I say we’ll I’ve been talking to you for 10 minutes now I’d like to get on with my day. And if I’m still there 5 minutes later I say we’ll now I’ve been here 15 minutes can we please finish upso i can leave and so on until I walk out. I’ve had to tell the manager at a different store ma’am I want to go home, you and I are not going to agree so please finish with the total so I can pay. PLEASE! Lol. It’s all still fun though just need to get past the cranky people. 😋

My store was out of the BIC pencils but I still scored a great deal on the BIC ATLANTIC pens and the BIC VELOCITY pens for .50 each after sales and coupons!

      Oh good!

  6. Amy

That’s an awesome deal on the pencils but mine was out, as usual. It’s such a bummer our local on never has the good sales in stock!

No luck using coupons for me either. I thought the cashier was making up the rule. I hesitate going to Staples because last week the cashier didn’t want to take my coupons because the item was going to be free.

Time to stock up on school glue for making Gak! Such a fun project for birthday parties. Gak recipes can be found on pinterest. (I use 2 4 oz bottles of glue, Borax, water and food coloring)

Same here they did not accept my coupons either. Called the C.S she said it’s already sale that’s why we don’t accept coupons. She also said she got a multiple calls already from customer asking why they don’t accept coupon. Anyways got a better deal from walgreens lol

I’m always discouraged to score these deals because it seems like my office max runs out of these items way too quickly and then I’ve just wasted a trip to the store. I wish they would purchase more of these sale items.

  11. Nikki

My Office Depot accepted my coupons, but since the coupons took my transaction below $5, the pencil cases and glue went back up. :/ Maybe it was how they took care of the coupons, they couldn’t scan them in.

The Office Depot by my house accepted by coupons, but it was a long ordeal. The cashier was not sure how to take care of them and another associate came to the rescue. I am not sure if it was how they rang the coupons up, but since they took my transaction below $5, I couldn’t get the 10 cents deals. :/

  13. Shelby

This whole thing about the item being on sale so they won’t take a coupon is ridiculous. They get reimbursed for the money. It doesn’t effect their bottom line at all.

  14. Angela Schrager

My store wouldn’t take coupons on amy of the sale items – only full priced ones. I overheard a man there telling his young son yo focus on what he needed and put it in his basket. He said “ignore those sale prices, just get what you need”!!!! I’m still recovering from the shock of hearing this!! Is that the way to bring up a child? SHOCKING!!😲

On the flyer it says Sharpie marker five packs are $1, but beware of the fine print. That is after mail in rebate. You will pay $5.69/pack in store and hope you jump through all the hoops to get that rebate. Last week’s deal of 12 packs for $3 was a hair more expensive but worth it for the lack of hassle.

I’ve really not stocfked up on supplies this year because of all the problems I have been reading about people having at these office supply stores (items being out of stock, not price matching, and not accepting manuf. coupons). It’s sad that we have to jump through so many hoops. I love couponing, but not when you’re made to feel like you are doing something wrong.
