This really is a good deal if you live in the vicinity of a Six Flags. We have done this the last two years for family members and ourselves. We live the furthest from the GA park, around 2.5 hours away. As long as you visit twice, the pass has paid for itself. Count the free parking and it gets even better! They frequently send season pass holders bring a friend free emails for specified dates which makes things even more fun.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience Ellen!

      • Rebe

If you are already a season pass holder, find the option for “I already have a 2016 season pass”, the price is further reduced ($1, but every bit helps!) plus additional passes for “bring a friend for free”.

        • Jules Islas

If you already have a 2016 Combo pass how much for 2017 and how much for combo pass for 2017 for someone that doesn’t have one ?

  2. Adriana

Idk if I need glasses but does it include the free parking?
I’m im California and this is two hour drive which I don’t mind because I drive 3 hours monthly to universal studios

  3. eyez

    yes free parking pass

  4. Aubrey

Wow what a deal! We are definitely purchasing! Thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Aubrey!

  5. Josie P

This is awesome my girls are still scared of the rides 🙁

  6. Andrea

Is the water park included with the season pass?

    • Sara

      Yup

    • Monica Vargas

      Yes, it is!!

  7. nk

    Read reviews ..before buying

    • Kelly

Glad you said this, I just googled and there are some horror stories out there! Makes me scared to purchase this!

    • Susie

Agreed. The one closest to us is horrible. I think a lot of people buy a season pass and use it for a summer babysitter, tons of unattended kids of preschool / elementary age. Seems so common, nobody even notices.

    • Jen

Where do you find the reviews?

    • ranebeaushotguns

Where did you see the reviews? TripAdvisor or yelp? I would love to read the reviews Im super happy with our past experiences in Atlanta but we would like to travel to sixflags ST Louis or the Texas one…maybe we should read about the other sixflag reviews before we actually plan a trip to one of them…

  8. Nell

Wow…will definitely think about this over the weekend!

  9. Sara

This is the best deal for this and it comes around this time every year. We got them two years ago and it was very worth it! You only have to go one or two times to get your money’s worth. The only reason we didn’t renew is because I got pregnant.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aww, thanks for sharing Sarah! Happy to hear how easy it is to get your money’s worth!

  10. ND

Does anyone know if we get the coupons from 2016 as well? Or do we just get the free admission for 2016 and the coupon book only for 2017?

    • Sara

We didn’t get a coupon book from what i remember. We got regular email offers for free friend admission days, early entry days, etc. beginning the day be bought the pass.

      • Jen

If you download the app you might get coupons on there. That’s where we get ours for this year.

    • Michelle C

The discounts and offers are loaded into your card. There are regular email reminders for special events such as bring a friend for free day. You can always log into your account online to see all the discounts and offers. Hope that helps.

  11. Susan

Thinking about this as well. How many people/kids are allowed to enter on one pass? And how many rides does it include or is it unlimited?

    • Moriah

It’s the whole park. One pass is for one person. You get free parking as well.

    • Sara

One person per pass (your thumb print gets you in so it can’t be shared) but there are bring a friend for free days. Rides are unlimited!

    • Lori

One person per pass. Rides are unlimited.

    • Michelle C

Kids 2 and under do not require a paid admission.

  12. Lori

We got five passes on impulse when you posted about this flash sale last year. Best decision ever! We live 20 minutes from Six Flags and went dozens of times, including Fourth of July. This summer, we used the water park as our primary pool, so we didn’t need to buy a separate membership for our local public pool. I was hesitant last year to spend so much out-of-pocket at one time, but have not regretted it at all. Repurchased again this year. Thanks for the post!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Super awesome to hear how much fun you were able to have this summer on this deal! Thanks for the great feedback!

  13. Aleshia

First off, if you live a distance away from six flags you can get these tickets at the beginning of the season for an entire season pass for this price with the free parking. For instance, last year when season passes went on sale at the start of the summer I put in my zip. I am 1.5 hours away from my nearest park. I got season pass ticket combo to six flags and hurricane harbor for 65$ per pass. It is a great deal. However, if you live in the town that has the park you can’t get the tickets for that price at the start of the season.

  14. Nicole

Thank you for posting! This will be a great Christmas gift for our 2 boys. We live about an hour and 15 minutes from Six Flags so it can certainly be a day trip.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      How exciting! You’re welcome Nicole!

    • Jenny

I just purchased these as a gift too. I have 3 kids and I’m always looking for non-toy ideas. Closest park to us is only 1.5 hours so this is perfect. Thanks Collin

  15. kim l.

Does anyone know if they will they send coupons for discounts on the flash passes as well???

    • eyez1998

Kim over the past few years i haven’t seen any coupons or discounts for the flash pass

    • Krystal

NJ has $5 off 1 person $10 off 2 $15 off 3 increasing by $5 each person you add up to $30 off of 6 person. We also had an all season flash pass for $181

      • Jessica

How do I get this discount? I want to buy for NJ

        • Krystal

The discount is loaded on to your season pass. You can view all your rewards from the app by scanning you pass.

  16. Amy

Does anyone know if there is much to do for a 5 and 8 year old? Seems like a good deal but I would hate to purchase them and them not enjoy it.
Also, from a previous comment, I am assuming the passes include admission to the water park, correct?

    • Rebe

Amy, I would assume most Six Flags are basically the same, but we live close to the New England one and there are tons of activities for kids. The water park is included and it is so much fun! We have been going every year since they were 4 and 6. Now they are 6 and 8 and we just tried a few new rides yesterday since they were feeling brave and said the old ones “were for babies”. If you can go more than twice in a year, it is worth it. We live 30 mins away from one and we go all the time, even if its only for a couple of hours. When they say this is the best price offered, then mean it. It doesnt get any lower than this.

    • Michelle C

You should check their website for information on rides and attractions for your nearest location. I go to the one in the Bay Area in California and my boys (4 and 2 years old) love the place. This location has plenty of things to do for my toddlers such as kiddy rides, Merry go round, jungle gym, water plat area, animals (similar to the zoo) and shows. My boys will ride the Merry go round over and over again. The best part is that it’s all inclusive.

    • Jenny

Yes I would agree there is lots to do for all ages.

  17. Allie

Amy- my boys are almost five and eight. It depends on height and your local six flags. My boys are tall for their ages- plenty to do for them both. They like a mix of “kiddie” area and adult rides. We live 10 minutes from Six Flags New England and went a few times to Six Flags Great Escape in New York. This pass was well worth it. We purchased the gold membership and the food season passes! We will be purchasing again for 2017!

  18. Krystal

If you live between two parks check the price of both. I live in South Jersey so Jackson, NJ is 1.25 hours away and Bowie, MD is 2.25 hours away. NJ passes are $64 but MD are $48 (food passes are the same) None of my friends ever take advantage of the free friend passes so we buy MD passes. The offer includes free national parking, so we are good no matter which park we visit. Since we like both and sometimes don’t mind the extra drive we will save the money where we can. The only catch is your in park savings coupons are only good for the park you purchase from. Our water park is also a stand alone which is not included in MD’s options to visit but since they have their own in park water park and it’s only 3 months of the 9 months they are opened we don’t mind the drive to MD to visit the water park. 15×5=75 so that pays for one whole dining pass vs NJ prices. I definitely recommend the food pass too. You get lunch, dinner and a snack if you visit before 3 at most parks. You do get discounts for meals like bogo food baskets but for 79.99 it’s covered after three visits and right now you get the free refills on the sports bottle for the rest of this season and all of next. Well worth the money!!

    • Lel

Krystal, how do you get the NJ discount?

      • Krystal

The only discount is $1 if you are renewing. What I do is buy from another park, that’s how I get it for $48. If you buy from NJ the price is $65 if you are a first time buyer, $64 if you are renewing.

      • Shelby

So you can use your Maryland passes in NJ and visit both? We live near both too, but in PA so closer to MD than NJ.

        • Krystal

Yes the season pass is good at both parks. You get national parking as well so no worries there either. The food pass is also good at all parks so that can be used at both as well. Just keep in mind your “home park” is the one you buy the pass from. So you can only use your bring a friend coupons in that park. The food discounts and shopping discounts can be used in either. If you buy MD you can not use it at the NJ water park though. MD has one also which we like better since it is attached to the park, unlike NJ that you have to drive over to. So if we are planning a water park day we take the drive to MD so we can easily walk back and forth between the wet rides and dry when people start to get cold. For us it’s only an hour further to MD but we like to mix it up. MD has some attractions my little ones like better so we find it more family friendly. NJ has better thrill rides so if it’s an adult trip that’s where we head.

  19. Debbie

If I buy these now can I use them for the freight fest they have for Halloween. Thank you

    • Krystal

Yes, you can use them for the rest of this year. Our park is open through the end of December for Holiday in the park.

  20. Dana

2 questions: Can someone who has bought this pass give me an idea of when (general times of year) the friends passes are good for? Also, this is more of a silly question, but you get a free refillable bottle with purchase of the dining plan, but it doesn’t say if that’s the one that has FREE refills or 99 cent refills. Can someone enlighten me? TIA…… 🙂

    • Triplet Mom

The water bottle is free refills all season long. There was a week in June and a week in July. Bring a friend day is always a week day and does not include waterpark for the friend. That is extra. I think there are a few other days for friends I guess it just depends on the park. Also note when the meal plan starts and ends. They have a sale on the meal plan in May and June in my park which is valid to the end of the year. If you don’t want to shell out all that money at once they slso have memberships. It’s a bit more but spread over 12 months and we have the one valid at any park in the country do if you plan on a trip you can visit the other parks and parking is included on each pass you you can have your kid in a friends car and they park free too

    • Becky

There’s generally a few bring a friend free days each month of June, July, and August. I personally avoid the park on those days, it’s always crazy busy. The drink bottle that comes with the deluxe dining plan is the free refills all season one.

  21. Debbie

Omg. This is worth it parking is $23 in New Jersey.. Thank you.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Debbie!

  22. Luna

Can we gift this to someone else? I live 20min away but don’t dare to try these rides anymore

  23. Brenda

Does anyone have an idea of what the note at the bottom means on the following, pulled directly from the Six Flags site? It says that the rest of 2016 isn’t free so I’m a little confused even though it also says on the page that you can use it in 2016.

Visit Free for the Rest of 2016
A 2017 Season Pass is good for the rest of 2016. Use it for admission to both Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park!
Note: Members can visit during 2016 too, but admission isn’t free

    • Krystal

There are two levels of passes. You can either pay in full and get a season pass or you pay monthly and get a membership. That’s what they are talking about here. If you choose the membership it is only for the 2017 season. The season pass will get you in for the rest of this year and all of next.

    • Julianne

This is referring to a membership which is different than a season pass. A membership is a month to month version of the season pass

    • Brenda

Thanks! I was thinking that was what it might be but it was still confusing. We spent over $100 last year just to use my daughter’s “free” ticket so I’m thinking that this might be a better option. She’s getting to the age where she enjoys riding rides even though she can’t go on the big coasters yet.

      • Krystal

We always renew during this sale. My 2017 pass has always paid for itself before the start of the 2017 season. We go the most in the fall and spring. They close in January now and reopen in April. So we visit April-June and September-December. I avoid in the summer to stay away from the crowds. The meal plan is only 79.99 right now and you get the free refill bottle for the whole season too. So with a family of 5 we would spend that much if we ate during one visit. Most meals are $15-$20 with a drink so another great deal. You also have the option to replace a meal with a snack too. For us it’s nice to always have something to do where all we have to gather up is gas money.

        • Julianne

Same here! We try to avoid the busy days when we can. We buy passes every other year so we don’t get burnt out and we are really only missing a few months out of 2 years.
It’s nice to just get in the car and go without packing a lunch or making sure everyone ate breakfast.

  24. Julianne

We buy these every other year. I have 4 teenage boys, so we definitely get our money’s worth out of the meal passes. Sometimes it’s worth the drive just to feed them!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Lol! Thanks for sharing Julianne!

    • Nikki

Absolutely! Sometimes I take the boys just for dinner and a snack on the dining pass instead of cooking dinner or drive-thru. Definitely recommend adding the dining pass; it pays for itself!

  25. Jessica

Hi.. My question is if you buy the season pass, do you have to pick it up by a certain date or do they mail you the pass? I live in Florida and don’t plan on going until mid October for my birthday. Thanks!

    • nin

Jessica, I’d call the park you are planning to use it at. The one near me says I have to go in person by Sept. 30 to turn my voucher pass in for the photo “real” pass but in a different place it says I have until Oct. 30.

  26. Em

Dining pass holders: For the unlimited beverage, is it just soda? Do they have healthier options like lemonade or ice tea?

    Thanks in advance 😊

    • Krystal

They carry coke products at my park (NJ) Some of the locations do have minute maid lemonade. I’ve also seen raspberry tea, and berry powerade. They have “go fresh” locations that have more diet friendly options so those might carry some more options but at our park they aren’t major restaurants that offer a lot of seating so I’ve never been. We just fill ours with water on most trips, they will do that from the beverage station as well so you don’t have to worry about warm fountain water.

      • Em

Great tip on refilling with ice cold water. You’ve convinced me that this is worth the price. Thank you for the info. 😊

  27. Emily

Is the meal plan 79.99 for each person?

  28. Robyn

I am trying to understand the season flash pass option. Do I need one for each of us. It says up to 5 people can be added for a fee, but I have no idea what the fee is. The all season flash pass is $249. Is it worth it?

  29. Jen

I just ordered a season pass for my family along with the dining plan. This is definitely worth it, especially the upgraded dining options. We can just hop in the car and not worry about packing lunch or dinner. We live 1 1/2 hours from the NJ location but we also like to visit the location in Lake George too. Just some advice for others that are planning to purchase tickets from a different location, please be aware that some places offer ecoupons (bonus coupons loaded onto your card such as bring a friend or discounts). These ecoupons can only be used at your “home” location. Also, you will have to drive to your location to show your ID and pick up your season pass. Also for those wanting to gift these passes to their children, don’t forget that you have the remaining 2016 to use your pass. This includes Fright Fest and Holiday in the Dark so you might not want to miss these days.

  30. Lynne

Looked everywhere for an answer and also tried emailing Six Flags but no answer after 2 weeks. if i bought the 2017 Pass am I able to claim the FREE BRING A FRIEND option for 2016 pass holders that shows up in my benefit page online. It says just show your 2016 card but I have a 2017 card tat is good for rest of 2016

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hmm, have you tried calling and asking? If you click through the link above and then scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click on “contact us”, you can then scroll down to your nearest Six Flags to find their address and phone number. Hope this helps!

    • Jen

It’s impossible to speak to a live representative but I did find an answer to that somewhere on the page or on a blog. The free bring a friend is for select dates and for the park that you chose. The season pass is for 2016 and 2017 so yes you can bring your friend for free this year. You will need to go through the turnstile and then your friend follows

    • Krystal

Yes, if the benefit is loaded on your card ( you can see it in your benefits) then you can use it. We added my daughter to the 2017 season and used the free friend on the 10th. We had no problems.
