I travel a lot for work and bought a set a few years ago and they were both broken within 6 months. The carry on and checked bag both got cracked and I had to tape the hell out of them.
I went back to soft sided luggage and they seem to handle the abuse of getting thrown around and crammed into spaces by the baggage handlers a whole lot better.

I have Samsonite 3 piece spinners and love them. Samsonite 10 year warranty is good to have although I haven’t yet seen anybody use it.
They are sturdy and lightweight. Mine are expandable and come with TSA approved locks making international travel easy.

I have a hard-sided bag and love it. I’m not sure the brand I have. Have been on three trips in the last 4 weeks and it’s done well in all overhead bins. What I love most is the 4 spinner wheels and that is protects items inside.
