May i ask why your experience was bad? i have never used this carrier and was considering to buy and take my kids to see family

The staff on our flight were snotty to everyone around us, always rolling their eyes and saying how cheap peoplr were for not buying their snacks. It was horrible service

Any flight that lands safely is a good experience for me. πŸ™‚

I second that! πŸ‘πŸ»I can pack lighter if it will save me $200

The flights that I looked at you can only fly on Tuesday or Wednesday. Forget doing a long weekend. Great deals if it works for you.

They charge for carry-on and for checked bags, but you are still allowed one “personal item” that fits under the seat in front of you. My family for 4 just did a trip that was less than $250 round-trip total (1 checked bag) and it would have been $250 each on other airlines. That being said, we did experience a big hassle and delay on our outbound flight and some weird behavior from the gate agents that could have avoided a lot of annoyance (boarded us even though we didn’t have any pilots, changed our gates twice, made us get off the plane without our stuff because we didn’t have any pilots) but a lot of that could have been due to our airport trying to move planes in and out. We had zero problems on our return flight. Also, you have to make sure to pack some snacks for the flight because they charge you for those too. I’d do it again though.

It is a low cost carrier, which is why you don’t get all the bells and whistles that you would w/ a more expensive priced ticket at another airline

We used Frontier on our return flight from Chicago to San Diego and didn’t have any problem with the flight. Yes, they charge for carry on which is more expensive than checked in (but a little bit cheaper if you pay for it online a day before your flight). I got our flight from travelocity and 2 different carriers was the cheapest. My husband who had to leave earlier took our luggage with him (not Frontier), so we just had our backpacks.

Don’t forget you can check with USAA for flight, hotel, resort and cruise deals. Also check with your employer to see if they have perks for working for them. I know Home Depot had an associate perks program. Also Ashford University has student discounts.

If you do use this airline, don’t plan on your flight being on time! My departing flight was an hour and a half behind, which thankfully I wasn’t in a hurry to get to where I was going!

We just got back from a FL vacation and used them. No issues at all!! Staff was friendly and even gave my 14 year old son 2 goodie bags full of treats because we flew on his birthday. All 6 of us flew for $253 round trip from Chicago to FL. Pack light and check 1 bag and no charge for a backpack or purse.

I fly frontier all the time. Just like spirit or other discount airlines you don’t get free luggage hence the discount part. You only pay for what you use. If you want drinks you pay, luggage you pay. This works out better if you’re trying to save. “Free” peanuts and carry ons aren’t really “free” when your ticket is 200 dollars more than these guys. Checked bags are $25 and carry on is like $30. Still WAY cheaper than paying $250 a flight on another airline. I fly the cheap days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday) and check one bag for myself and my two daughters. If you’re doing short hauls across the US who cares. You’re only in the plane for a couple hours. The delay thing is every airline, that’s not because it’s budget. Service is fine.

I was looking for flights from Chicago to Orlando. 3 of us round trip would be $200. Ready to book as its super cheap, but I realized the price is for discount den Members. Annual price is $50. So I’d have to pay for that to get it cheaper. I guess after adding it all up, it’s still a really good deal. Anyone a member and would recommend doing the membership?

We are flying Frontier to do Disney on a budget! $400 rountrip for 5 people from DC – including 2 checked bags each way. πŸ™‚
