I really like credit sesame and have used it for years with absolutely no problems.

Super glad to hear that Marie! Thanks for sharing!

I like credit sesame but I also use credit karma. No credit card needed for that either.

For anyone using services like credit karma and credit sesame—they are not giving you your FICO score. Please note that the FICO score is the only one used for major purchases.

Also, it’s free because they are tracking you and giving you offers, selling your info…

The FICO scores you get from each credit bureau will also be a little different as each bureau uses a different algorithm. Credit Karma and Credit Sesame are meant to be estimates. Both are very similar for me and similarly match the FICO scores I have gotten from different bureaus. So as pp stated they are not correct FICO scores but estimates and each real FICO you get will be different based on the credit bureau used.

I just checked my actual credit scores from the 3 bureaus and credit sesame is a reasonable average of all three. I’ve also never noticed any extra junk email, snailmail or telemarketing calls. I am on the no-call list and have taken my name out of as many mailing lists as I can, however.

The credit scores you get directly from credit bureaus like Trans Union, Equifax, Experian are not Fico scores. They use their own scoring systems. If you need the actual credit scores your lenders/banks pull, you must purchase them from myfico.com. You may want to check if a Fico score is included on your credit card statement before making a purchase.

I agree. My husband uses credit krama and it is very close to our credit score. Credit krama is usually a better up to date reading,
It is as recent as the last few days. We recently had our credit run for a home loan and the score they used was really about a month old. They do in ad promotions, so does mint, but never any emails and no more snail mail then normal.
