Does anyone ever reuse these from year to year? My kids are just now getting into legos so, I am new to all this. I bought this for my 5 year old daughter this year.

She should be fine. The sets are pretty small each day.

      • pirateprincessmommy

Thanks, Bethany! Do you reuse the advent calendar from year to year or, buy a new one each year?

        • Amy

I bought the original Lego Advent calendar a few years ago. We used it that year and have never gotten it back out. The pieces were just too small and the kids were not at all interested in it.

I got one a few years ago and we reuse it. They have plenty of other legos so the pieces stay on the display box. They are 6 and 9 and don’t mind reusing it year to year.

          • pirateprincessmommy

            thanks!

        • Erin

I don’t. They get added to the Legos and get and new one. One year, my son was into Star Wars so we got that one. These days, my kids want the empty ones that I fill myself.

I wait for it to go on sale each year and have bought the lego city version for my nephew every year for five years. He absolutely loves it and looks forward to it. I have made a tradition of giving it to him when we come together for Thanksgiving. His mother uses it as motivation to be ready for school on time. If he is at the door by a certain time he can open that day before school otherwise he has to wait until after he brushes his teeth for bed later that night so she has enjoyed this calendar as well! I am torn this year because I think he may enjoy the Star Wars version more and I missed the September sale and hate to pay $40 for it. It would be difficult to reuse but the pieces vary slightly each year and have never accumulated dust for him. The biggest challenge to reusing it would be retrieving all of the pieces back (as they are intended for ongoing play) without him noticing!

        Thank you!

I put both of my kids’ advent calendars back together to reuse them, but I am not sure
That we will end up doing that anyway. My husband thought that would be so boring without the fun surprise of it all. You could certainly reuse them if you want. Maybe my kids will have forgotten in between. The new set is killer cute, though.

I don’t see this for $21.95 on Amazon or Walmart.com. Am I looking in wrong place? I used the link provided.

Bummer! I am seeing that now as well ๐Ÿ™
