Ugh this 50% off toy thing is such a scam…stores only get 1 or 2 of whatever toy it is and everyone else is screwed. I guess it’s a good marketing strategy to get you in the store…but I just don’t like how they do it…
I hate it when I make a special trip to the store and they’re sold out of whatever the item is. For these type of deals, in the past I’ve had success ordering the item online for in store pick up. Then when you get to the store, ask them to cancel the order so you can buy it using the Cartwheel.
Yes,but some times they have more than a few. Last year I walked into Target half way through the day, and they had about 10 Lil Tikes trampolines left. It has been the best $20 I’ve ever spent! You just never know unless you go 🙂

I agree, it is a scam. last year I attempted the ” deal of the day ” several times by being at the store at opening.
Never a successful trip. Today I was not at the store @ opening but within 2 hours of the doors opening and of course the shelf was empty. They do not seem to care how many people they are annoying with bogus sales.
In my opinion, very bad business ethics.
I also think it’s a scam. I have checked every single day since it started this year, and none of the toys are available in a 5 state radius. It’s ridiculous, and I think they are just trying to get out of giving the discount. I was able to use it once last year, and that was a good deal, but I haven’t been successful any other time after that.
I believe this is bait and switch and is illegal. How is Target getting away with this? I checked every day at my target for these toys and they have not been available. I also looked online to try to do the ship to store as someone had suggested, and at 5 a.m. none of these toys were available in any of the stores in a hundred mile radius and I live in a major metropolitan area. This is ridiculous and it makes me not want to shop at Target ever again.

I got almost all of my daughter’s gifts last year from the 50% off cartwheel toy of the day deal. And i plan to check it daily again from now till Xmas. Loved it last year!
Unfortunately when you have to be at work early, before stores open, you always miss this. Unless you’re the first in store, you won’t get to use this.

Hmmm… none of the 20 closest stores to me that have this in stock, and Target hasn’t even opened for the day! They can’t possibly have sold out yet, so apparently they are making no effort to have the cartwheel deals in stock this year. Off to a poor start, Target! Very disappointing. 🙁
I think Targets overall are very hit or miss with their stock. We have 3 Targets here and there’s one I drive 20 minutes to get to cause I know they are always well stocked and organized. I literally have one right across the street but it’s horrible. When they did the toy coupon a few weeks ago they didn’t even have enough toys in stock to get my total up enough to use it!
I checked Target.com to see if the Kinetic toy was at my store and it said no… So I checked brick seek and it says they have 9, priced at $17.99… I’m going to call my store when they open and see if they’ll hold one for me… Great deal if I can get it for under $10!

How can we find out which toys will be on the 50% offer at Target each day through 12/24? I’m afraid I’ll buy something now that will end up on the 50% off later, and I believe Target only gives you money back for the lower price if it is on sale within 2 weeks of when you buy it, and I don’t even know if they do that for Carwheel or not. Can you use the 50% off deal of the day more than once? I forgot to stack w/ the 20% the other day and wanted to go back to do this (returning the item and repurchasing), but the customer service rep told me that the 50% off coupon (not the 20% that I did NOT use) could only be used once. it doesn’t expire until the 12th and its still in my cartwheel!

It’s a ridiculous game target is playing with us customers. NEVER, have I been able to find a toy deal of the day when advertised. Sick of trying. Does anyone have an answer? I have quite a few grandchildren to get Christmas gifts for. I don’t have time for this nonsense.

My Target puts the deal of the day item at the Customer service area so I have been able to get one every time I went to purchase one. They even allowed me to use the cartwheel 50 % and the 15% off on Cyber Monday.
The Target in my are puts the 50% item at the customer service desk. I have been able to get each item I went in for.
It really is just the luck of the draw y’all! I went into Target yesterday around 5pm for the 50% item, which happened to be a $40 Disney Cinderella toddler with wand combo, and was able to snag the last one for half the original price! Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me!
