We took the plunge a few weeks ago and did the prepay for 3 months of sling. We heard from several friends on how great it is. While I do agree that 50% of the time it’s fine… when it’s bad… it’s BAD! Make sure you try this or the 7 day trial before you get it!

Weve thought about doing that! What are the cons you have dealt with that to make you feel that way?

      • krybs

it’s very grainy 1/2 the time and then it will just spin trying to load…

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! Good to know!

  2. Dana

Yep. I did the free trial. So wasn’t worth it to me!

    • Laura

Me either – I’ll stick to Netflix and Hulu

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Thanks for the feedback Dana!

We ditched satellite and switched to sling. Selection is okay. Streaming hasn’t been a problem for us. It’s a huge savings, but it has been a bit of an adjustment. On the positive side, we definitely spend less time watching tv, and that’s a good thing!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for the review!

I LOVE sling. I still get HGTV, ESPN, and the kids get their Disney. Great since we got rid of cable. Never had an issue with streaming…..

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Glad to hear how well it has worked for your family Leslie!

I was an early adopter of SlingTV and haven’t had any issues. What are the problems people are having? Just wondering so I know what to keep an eye out for.

I just about to ask for feedback. Sounding like we will just stick to Netflix and Hulu. Anyone know of a way to get hallmark (or watch all the hallmark Christmas movies) without having cable? I am dying to see all the Christmas movies =)

    • Sara

Both Hallmark channels are included in one of the add on packs on Sling TV. Costs an extra $5.

  7. Loretta

I paid for the basic sling plus $5 a month to get both Hallmark channels plus a couple of other channels.

  8. Mike

    Thanks! Watching CNN now!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome to hear that Mike! You’re welcome!

  9. Christy

    Does sling have Spanish channels?

    • JA

      Yes. I have 3 or 4.

  10. What Happens in the SanDbox

We got rid of cable almost a year ago and have loved having Sling. It may not be perfect all the time, but the saving it has given us over our old satellite/cable bill more than make up for it. We also have Hulu and Netflix, but sometimes it’s nice to watch “live” TV.
