Anyone have experience with this car seat? I read the Chicco Keyfit Zip is really awesome.
We bought it because of the safety ratings and we have historically been pleased with this brand; but we haven’t loved this car seat. It’s ok – but not super easy to adjust the straps or get it in and out of a vehicle and we are missing having a cup holder.
We have this in one car and a Graco Headwise in the other car. The little one is way more comfortable in the Chicco seat so we always make sure to use it for longer car trips. She seems to get very hot in the Graco and seems to stay a bit cooler in the Chicco. However, I agree with the previous response that it is hard to get them in and out because the sides are higher. (I may have bumped her head a time or 2… oops!) I have heard this is not such an issue once they turn forward facing. It is difficult to adjust the straps- the salesperson told us that is unfortunately true of almost all convertible seats when rear facing because the angle you need to pull to adjust it is right in to the seat. We adjusted the straps so that they are tight enough and now just slide her in and out without adjusting (when she cooperates with us!). It is slightly more difficult to get them in, but it saves the battle of tightening the straps and me questioning if it is really tight enough each time!
We have this one too. It definitely is tough to get her in and out and the straps were difficult to maneuver for a little while when she was smaller. But safety was our number one concern so I’ll deal with it. We’ll be getting the same one once the baby outgrows the infant seat. I’m sure once she is forward facing it won’t be an issue but she’s 2 now and can climb in and out on her own. I only do it myself when we are in a hurry. I feel like Graco has a lot of recalls come up and as a paramedic I know how vital car seat safety is. So I pass on graco as a car seat.

We love this car seat! It’s way safer than the other brands bc of the design and my daughter loves it( she is 2 now) very comfortable compare to the other car seat ( Graco) we have for my husband’s car! Plus this price is amazing! 🙂

Have been using this car seat 5 years. Extremely cushy and safe. It cups around the child almost like a partial egg shape. Never had problems with straps. BUT — if I were buying new, I would go for the NextFit ZIP version for the ease of getting it apart for washing. It’s only a matter of time before it gets pooped in, barfed on, spilled on, and you have to take it apart to wash. Not an impossible task, but easier would be better. There are videos on youtube showing how to take it apart and put it back together.

We usually buy Britax convertible car seats but tried this chicco since I love the chicco keyfit infant seats. This one may be more comfortable, but the fabric is terrible to wash and if is so hard to take apart. I dont love this seat at all. If I didn’t have twins, I would get rid of this and go back to the Britax Boulevard for the convertible carseats.
We have this seat and we love it! I find it super easy to install when using latch. I always get a super tight fit! Ours came with a cup holder that’s removable. I highly recommend this seat!

I love this seat for my forward facer. Installation is so easy. And it comes with a cup holder, at least ours did. So tempted to get an extra for my younger kiddo. Hard to switch From RF to FF but who does that all the time anyhow? Would say does seem hard to clan…haven’t had to figure that out yet we’ve had it only 6 minths
I bought this seat for my son about 2 years ago because of safety reviews. We have three different seats and this is his preferred seat. Buying a second one for my daughter. It is heavy but always been super easy to move from vehicles when needed. Easy to adjust when helping out with my nieces who are older, one button raises the head rest and shoulder straps. I think the weight goes to 65 lb.
