The one I bought over the summer died on me last week and support only offered me a $5 discount on a new one. I was so disappointed they wouldn’t do more

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Sorry to hear about that Amy! 🙁 Thanks for sharing!

  2. melanie

Thats strange bwcause my friends child broke his and it was more than 6 months old and they sent a new one.

    • Amy

Mine was less than 10 days after the 90 day warranty and nearly caught on fire while on the charger. The back was fully melted and probably would have caused a fire if I hadn’t smelled it and ran to the kitchen to investigate! I’m not sure I want another but I do think they should have offered more.

I bought 2 last Christmas for my kids. One doesn’t charge very well and when I contacted amazon they said the only thing I could do was buy a new one. Not impressed with this tablet and now I am looking for new tablets for this Christmas for my kids.

    • Jen

Any ideas on what tablet you are leaning towards? I’m trying to find 2 affordable tablets for my girls (7&3) but with decent quality.

      • Anna

I’m wondering too- for 4&6 yr old girls

      • Kim

I was thinking about Samsung galaxy tablet. I have the phone and have had no problems. They have a kids version also it’s called galaxy tab lite.

        • JaxJay

You can’t get a better specification tablet than this for any where near this price point under $50. Especially for small kids. My 2 have lasted well over a year with small kids using daily and still charging and working perfectly. I have higher end tablets too, but with combo of amazon prime these can’t be touched even if they break after a year. Most small cheaper electronics including cellphones aren’t supposed to last more than a year/ year and a half anyway. Happy Thanksgiving!

          • Heather

I agree. I’m just replacing our Fire that we bought a few years back. The kids have tortured it and it still works awesome…and the quality! Two thumbs up.

      • Ewebdell

Get the fire tablet kids edition. 2 year worry free warranty and they will replace for any reason, no questions asked. It come with a nice rubber case too.

  4. Krystal Davey

They sell 2 year replacement plans for a good price, and they honor it without question. If they gave people great deals when they opted not to buy the replacement plans wouldn’t it negate the point of paying for the replacement plans?

    • Rick

      Krystal,

You are absolutely correct, there would be no reason to buy a warranty if they replaced these for people whose tablets were not in warranty and or did not buy the 2 year warranty.

That being said we bought the kids fire edition for around $70, comes loaded with kid friendly games and content for a year and a 2 year warranty. It has been my 6 year old granddaughters favorite gift.

What is that 10% off wishlist at target? I know that it is off topic but I was just wondering. TIA

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi Annie! You can download the Target Wishlist App to grab the 10% off coupon 😉

  6. couponsimple

I’m not sure how this just happened…I was tinkering with the sizes & storage and I ended up seeing the full price, and then, underneath, it said “Or 5 payments”. I clicked the link and purchased a All-New Fire HD 8 Tablet, 8″ HD Display, Wi-Fi, 32 GB – Includes Special Offers, Tangerine for $18.00 now, and then 4 more payments scheduled.

  7. Tiffany

My daughter just dropped hers and it cracked. Glad to replace for such a good price. Thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Tiffany!

Anyone know if this will be the best price during Black Friday sales?

We bought a kindle couple years ago on a deal Collin posted. I don’t remember how much it was but it came with a case as well.

    • DeanOC

This is the best price for this tablet. Target will have it too and if you have a redcard itll be another 5% off though- thats what Im waiting on lol

      • M.

        Thanks! Just ordered from Target

  9. momof2

My son has had one for two years now and he uses it almost everyday. It is starting to not charge well so I among to pick up a new one for him.

    • momof2

      *I am going 😀

  10. Jody

I just need something to read kindle books on (that my kids won’t grab!) I want a paper white but find it hard to pay $99 when I can read on a kindle for $33! Anyone know if the e-readers go any lower in price on Black Friday??

  11. Nicole

Can someone explain the difference between this one and the Kindle Fire 6 that was on sale for 50 recently? It says the original price on that is 70, and this one says the original price is 50 but it is bigger and newer??

    • JaxJay

The HD 6 just has a better quality display but this tablet screen quality is just fine. Pixelation really only starts to be noticed on screens 10″ plus.

  12. Tiffany Mo

I love these tablets! I bought 2 for my boys last year on black Friday at this same price and its probably the best money I ever spent. I bought the foam cases with them that have the handle and stand. Those were each $10. I also pay for Amazons free time which is amazing. I have had no problems with them. The chargers that came with the kindles didn’t last, stopped charging them, but we have no shortage of chargers in this house. For this price, I would definitely buy, especially for kids! And they offer a warranty for a couple bucks!
