I went today and was able to use 2 coupons. I bought a small jar candle for $ 11 and got the small tumbler candle for free. I used the $10 off $10 and got another small jar candle for $1. So 2 small jar and 1 small tumbler for $12.

I did not get the coupon yesterday either after a purchase. I think the cashier had a little attitude about me not buying a more expensive item with the $10 coupon and considered me unworthy of the other coupon 😉
Yesterday, I purchased a small jar candle for $10.99, so after coupon it was $1.00 plus tax. I had to ASK my cashier for the free medium candle coupon when I went to Yankee Candle.She did give me one, but with attitude. No matter the bad attitude I get from the saleslady, I always smile and stay positive. I kill them with my kindness–and I usually get what I want. 🙂

Anyone else pretty surprised at these coupon deals this year? How are they sustainable? I mean, I’m not complaining really, but it concerns me that YC is so willing to give product away almost free! I used the $10 off $10 coupon the other day and got the Charming Scents starter kid for $15 (Regularly $18), used the $10 coupon and got it for $5. And then got the free jar coupon for later this month. Now this free tumbler coupon too?
I was thinking the same thing. But there hasn’t been a mad dash on either of the stores I frequent to use this q. Today a lady in front of me purchased a medium candle for $20+, no coupon or anything. I gasped, lol.

These candles are extremely inexpensive to make. I forgot what they use to make the wax bit there is a ton of it. It’s just the name people are buying it for. And there are a ton of people making large purchases all the time. That $20 purchase is almost all profit. I hear about people spending $100 there are the time. And even with these coupons I’ve already spent $30 there but got a lot of nice candle holders and tea lights for gifts so they are making money.

The regular car jars that are $2.99 apiece normally are on sale for $1, so I got 10 of them for free with the $10 coupon, and then I got one of them in order to use the small tumbler coupon and I paid only $1.09 total for both transactions!!! Plus I got the coupon for the free medium jar candle with any purchase.

They would not let my 5 year old check out told me that he was too young to be a customer.
Happened to me, too. I contacted them through email and gave them all the store information. I wasn’t mad, just wanted confirmation on how their coupon works. The cashier told me unless they have a job and make their own money they aren’t a customer. Ignorant statement.
OMG! That’s horrible! I don’t have a job or make my own money (stay at home mommy) I would have thrown that in their face! I am so sorry that happened to you. I am very lucky the employees at the store near me are so nice – they let me use 4 coupons, gave me a handful of free coupons and set up a play area behind the counter for my kids to sit and color while I shopped, and gave them stickers. I’m honestly just shocked at the extreme inconsistencies in customer service – but honestly just sounds like that cashier just had some personal issues to take out on people.
With such great service, you should contact customer service to give a compliment!
Yes, very shocking statement. It isn’t the first rude statement I have received in front of them. We just stay polite and I call their managers when I am home. I totally get not wanting to abuse the coupons, but frankly what do you do if a little kid saved their money to let’s say buy their mom a gift for Christmas? In this scenario that isn’t the case, but seriously? Around a holiday they are going to make sure they have a job? Inconsistency is crazy.

Is amazed at the stuff I remember from when I was 5 so a store that’s rude to a kid isn’t exactly inviting them to be customers as adults! Kids can/do remember this stuff.
My 5 year old and 8 year old were able to use their coupons today, with no problem, other than the 5 year old taking FOREVER to decide what to get. They had “their” money, and got to pick out a couple of Christmas gifts from there and Dollar Tree. They were so happy to do some shopping, and are looking forward to the next coupon/shopping trip! We did have to go back to the store because my younger child didn’t get a coupon for the medium candle for later in the month.
These coupons are awesome! I have been in there four times in the past couple weeks. Twice to get freebies and twice to buy a couple good sales they’ve had. Every time I’ve gone in I’ve received a free medium candle on the 17th of Dec with any purchase. With all of this my gift bags for teachers will be finished quickly!

Can you use this coupon more than once? I went yesterday with the $10 one and got the medium candle coupon. Went again today, the cashier (who was the same as yesterday, might i add) was really nice and let me do two transactions, one with the $10 coupon and one with the tumbler coupon. I didn’t get a second medium candle coupon, which is fine, because I already have it. I didn’t even bother to ask because my toddler was screaming, and standing barefoot on the stroller. The store was packed today and people were buying tons of things, not just using the coupons.
They have the large cookie candles for $15 with any purchase so I got a tart and a large candle used the $10 and paid $7!

I hope you all can give me a bit of advice… When I went and used this coupon Thursday, the cashier asked me for my email and phone and I complied, though I did opt out of emails on the screen. Yesterday while I browsing, the cashier told another customer that she was required to give an email and phone to use that particular coupon. I started to get nervous about my own purchase, but then just ended up giving my cell phone and an old email address because I was afraid they would tell me I could only use the coupon once. I hate being asked for my email just out of principle, but I get stressed and give it anyway. What do you all do in this situation and can I just say no? I’m sure I’m worrying more than I should!!!
They asked me that as well. I refused to provide information because they didn’t need it.
I didn’t give the cashier my email nor phone#. I just told her I don’t want to and still used my coupons just fine.
They just want it so they can send you junk mail I mean sales.
They do it to track you purchases. they push the employees to make sure they get it every transaction – so not sure how true some of their excuses are. But for sure, you can use the coupons with out providing your info. They are just using a little higher pressure tactics, maybe they have a quota or reward for how many they get. The salesperson told me, the more your address is entered the better coupons you get, but IDK that’s true.

They have a Rewards program now that uses your phone number and email to get the reward points. After so many rewards points you get a $5 reward to use in the store that can be used with sales and coupons.
At both stores in my area they will not give you the sales price if you are using a coupon also if you were using the coupon they were not giving you another coupon for the free candle with purchase.
I just used mine in Paducah, Ky. The cashier was so nice and let me use both with no hassle. She was excited about the deal and was going to print some coupons off when she got home. I got the cheap stuff too to keep the total down and she didn’t mind at all! Thanks for the heads up on a great deal.
My store had car air freshener for $1. Bought that and used free small tumbler coupon the cashier also gave me 3 coupons for free medium jar coupon with any purchase.
I used the $50 off $100. I ended up getting 5 melt cup warmers at $19.99 each. They each came with 2 melt cups for free. I added the large jar holiday scented candle for the $15 promotional price. So with tax I spent $70 on 6 awesome teacher gifts that look like I spent around $30 each when I really spent a bit less than $12 each! Thanks Collin!

I was able to use both coupons in separate transactions thanks to a lovely sales person. They had car fresheners for $1, so I got a small jar, small tumbler and care freshener for $2.11! And she did give me the coupon for the free med jar candle! Thank you for making my small present budget stretch as far as it can!
I was able to use $10 off yankee candle coupon in my hallmark store too. My hallmark store is closing and pretty much everything was 50% off so I was able to combine 50% with $10 coupon. Then I was able to use 2 $10 off coupons at the yankee candle store just a few stores down in the mall. 3 small jars and a small tumbler for $5? Yes please!!!!
I had printed off about 10 coupons because I love saving other people money when they don’t have a coupon in the store. Like handing someone $10. Someone in front of me was about to buy $110 worth of gifts without a coupon so I saved her $50 🙂 love that!

My 8 year old daughter and 10 year old son were treated horrible when they used the $10 off any purchase coupon earlier this week. They did odd jobs to save money for their own shopping.
They each had between $30-40. They were So excited to buy for family on ther own. They made me feel as though we were worthless and cheating them to buy a small candle for $10.99 and pay only .99. We didn’t do a thing wrong. Once again, today, my daughter bought another candle with the new coupon. Same clerk checking is out ( a manager) treated her horrible again. My bubbly, sweet daughter even asked why she was so mean. Made me sick they were so rude to us. Like we were stealing from them. Ridiculous.
I am considering calling customer service but really, what are they going to do anyhow. Makes me not want to shop there. Coupons or not.
