Yes this will work with any internet provider. You would connect your providers modem to this router.

I’m not tech savvy, but I have wifi and pay an extra $10 to rent something from them… would I need a modem with this as well? I have the plug in through an old phone line internet.

Hi Bee- I am not tech savvy either, but I can tell you that we have a wifi router and a modem. We bought the modem to avoid the monthly $7.50 charge from our internet supplier. We also bought the wifi router ourselves. We purchased both at Best Buy…..they price match most competitors.
