Could you purchase more than one or is there a limit?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

There is a purchase limit of 5 🙂

      • Jen D

        Thanks Collin!!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          YW!

Air bnb is awful. They do not care how clean or dirty anything is. DO not use them ever.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh bummer 🙁 Thanks for your honest review Michelle!

    • Cas

My brother has used air bnb several times and has had nothing but great experiences! Bummer you haven’t had a good experience.

    • TAMARA

I love airbnb and use it 90% of my travel times. Please disregard this one negative post!

    • Lisa Marqueling

      I LOVE AirBNB!

That’s what I wondered…I seriously take a black light to hotels to check for things I shouldn’t. ..let alone someone’s personal home. …..I can’t even think about taking my kids to great wolf cuz of all the bed bug infestations…lol

    • laurie

We were just at Great Wolf in KC and was extremely clean and no bed bugs. We have been to WDW 4 times and have stayed at the Value resorts were millions of people stay everyday and have never had a problem.

I second that! We had a terrible experience when in Chicago

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! So sorry to hear about your experience 🙁 Thanks for sharing!

I use air bnb whenever I travel and I love it! Read reviews of the properties, and only book those with plenty of reviews. I never stay at a non reviewed place. A little homework goes a long way! Going up to a cabin found on Airbnb next weekend!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Cool! Thanks for the helpful tips! Good to know!

I also have used Airbnb quite a bit and only once did I find the place not as clean as I would have liked, but still not terrible. All my other times have been great- much more affordable than hotels!

We’ve used Airbnb numerous times all over the country and have always had good luck. We only stay at places that have plenty of positive reviews. If you do your homework, you can save a lot of money and have a much more enjoyable experience than staying in a boring, cookie cutter hotel.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! 🙂

I love AirBnB, I am a germ freak, but hotels are no better, as a rule. All in all, it is a much lower cost, more flexibility, better experiences. I usually look for AirBnB locations in big cities where there is free parking, saves a ton on parking compared to hotels.

    • katttro

One suggestion though – always check where the actual address is, since the address isn’t revealed till after the booking is complete. I once had a place that was over 3 miles in a different direction than the map marker. AirBnB was awesome about it, though, and refunded everything, even the service fees. However, you need to watch out for the refund being represented as store credit, instead of going back to your credit card.

I love being a host! We have met so many wonderful new friends from all around the world. Our partnership with AirBnB has changed our lives. We had two children in college and a wedding to pay for and being a host helped us with these financial burdens. We take pride in our home and make it as clean and comfortable for our guests. We also enjoy using AirBnb when we travel!!

Just like what some previous readers said, you must read through the reviews. Go for ones with ample positive reviews. I’ve stayed at many airbnb within US and internationally. There was only one experience that was not good, and that host only had one review. So if you do your research, you’ll find some great places!

Does anyone know if these discounted cards come around every so often? I don’t need until next August.

    • Shirley

      I’m wondering the same thing.

      • CC

The fine print says that the gift card doesn’t expire.

I live across the street from a house that is used as an airbnb house 100% of the time (meaning the owner does not live at this house). If you decide to use airbnb, PLEASE be respectful of the neighbors. We’ve had plenty of bad experiences with those who live it up for the weekend.

  13. Luz

Awesome! Thank you so much for this! Snatched one up. We are traveling quite a bit next spring, and use Airbnb almost exclusively. Agree, it’s like anything else- you must read reviews. That’s why they’re part of the system. We have always had good experiences- sometimes excellent. The only time we had a bit of an issue was with noise in LA, which is not always within the host’s control (location). Love it because most times you can stay in an entire private apartment for the price of a crappy hotel. I’m a fan.

Thanks again for posting this 🙂

How cool! You’re so welcome! Enjoy your trip! 🙂
