Oh cool! Happy to hear how well it has worked for you! Thanks for sharing!

How difficult is it to learn how to use one of these? I have zero sewing experience but I would love to try and learn. I just don’t know if I want to spend so much only to see I am not cut out for this lol

So I have learned so much by reading the book and utubing. It takes time- but you can do it! You can make some beautiful pieces too! It’s well worth it!

I don’t have this exact model, but I do have a Brother sewing/ emb. Machine. I am not gonna lie… I wanted to throw mine out the window the first month I had it! But like the other H2Ser mentioned, you can find a lot of help/ tutorials on you tube. I have also found that there are several Facebook group pages that has been really helpful. One of my favorites is applique corner fanatics. There are a lot of ladies who are very helpful! One of the main drawbacks with this machine is that you can only do up to a 4×4 hoop size. That is what I started with, and then wanted a bigger hoop size pretty soon after. 🙁 luckily the sewing store I bought it at let me exchange it for a larger machine. Brother is a well known brand in the sewing world. 🙂 good luck in your decision!

Had this from Walmart. It took a bit to learn and what threads to use and fabric backing. The projects I did I liked but it didn’t work like I wanted so ended up returning it. Not a big sewer but mainly wanted it for personalization. Good price if you want to try it.

Thanks for sharing your experience Mary! Sorry to hear it did not work as expected. 🙁

      What didn’t work for you?

      • Mary

I’m sure it was the user. I tried to really make it work but the fabric along with special thread and backing it was very tricky for me. My husband even helped me as much as he could knowing how badly I wanted it to work. I even went to two local sewing stores where you can buy embroidery machines. After that and feeling over my head I returned it. There are several U-tubes so google those as they helped me.

I don’t have this machine but I have another brother machine CS 6000i. I’m a beginner, tracing myself by watching YouTube videos and reading blogs, it’s challenging but so worth it. I started by making cloth diaper inserts for my babies, then I made a small simple dress for my DD and this past month I made a 3-piece complete outfit for my DD for her birthday day, complete with lining and ruffles. I don’t use patterns just look at an outfit she already has then examine it to see how it was constructed and use my imagination to bring it to life. I’m loving it. Be patient and the seam riper is your friend. 🌺
