Please consider the ongoing cost of the paper and film when purchasing these cameras. It ends up being very expensive per print and it’s not something I want my daughter overlooking. I used this camera fad as an opportunity to talk to my daughter about not buying into the newest trend and to actually think about the cost behind the product. The camera itself might seem cheap and fun but take a look at the cost of film and paper, consumerism at its worst!
What I do is get the film at Michaels and use either the 40% off coupon that is almost always available and sometimes there is even a 50% coupon you can use.
I personally use it for special occasions. The instant prints make great party favors or even Christmas gift tags. It’s cheaper than other favor options out there 🙂
I always price match online prices for the film, always much cheaper, over 50% off online. my guess is people use these for special occasions and not as their everyday camera.

I would recommend the Fuji instax printer for your phone. If is about $200 but is worth every penny. It allows you to print the photos right from your phone which ensures all the photos you print are quality ones. We now bypass this camera and just use the handy little printer for the fun instant prints.
