Has anyone ever even heard of these before they became the “Hot Toy?” I’m not buying into it! I think its a marking strategy.
They didn’t come out until October but there was plenty of warning that they’d be a “hot toy” since they won tons of awards at all of the toy conventions earlier this year. Just lots of people wait until Nov to start shopping and by then they were sold out. Companies have trouble knowing how big of a deal a new toy will be especially smaller companies like spin master. Pretty sure they’d rather have the toys on the shelves and be able to make the sell then have the hot toy that’s sold out and not making them any money lol.

Aren’t these basically like those My Meebas a few years ago? They were hot but really stupid once they were opened and I found so many at thrift stores! We aren’t doing any toys this year–going on family vacation to Disneyland instead. We’ve been saving since last Christmas when we realized our kids are more excited about the array of toys under the tree and opening them, than about actually playing with any of them for any period of time after Christmas Day!
If anyone knows where I can find a hatchimal without getting price gauged, please let me know. I only need 1.

I guess I am another Grinchy mama cause I told my kids this was just a silly ploy to make $$ like Tickle Me Elmo & all the rest. Insted of the latest & greatest toy we r putting the $ towards a mom & me date night (his choice). I firmly feel that u don’t remember gifts, u remember moments & memories, THATS what I want to spend $ on. Not on any more toys!
I have a pink/white hatchimal that’s a penguala…I bought one for my niece and found out she doesn’t like them…so, if anyone needs one let me know…I paid $100 to my friend for it-not trying to make $…if someone needs one and has an offer anywhere close to that it’s yours. I’m in FL. I can ship too…
