Why do you need 3 $0.75 coupons, can’t you use just 2 and get the same deal?

I would suggest just buying off the $1.87 gillette foam without using any coupons, it will be about 20cents before tax after gc.
Because the registers will still adjust the coupon(s) down even if you only use 1 or 2. I learned that the hard way because I thought it was silly to use 3 when the value of 2 should’ve been more than enough to make it free.
So if I only have 2, will they not take the full $1.50 off? That’s silly!
