I have stopped buying Colgate Total because of triclosan which the FDA has banned from antibacterial soaps but colgate convinced the FDA that it’s benefits outweigh the risk. One is used on your hands and the other in your mouth. I am not convinced.

Thanks so much for that insight! If it’s not safe on your hands, why would you want to put it in your mouth! I guess I’ll be looking at the ingredients now.

It was not removed from hand soaps because of some imminent or proven danger, it was removed from “anti-bacterial” soaps because it’s ability to truly be anti-bacterial – based on how the average person washes their hands – was questioned. By all means choose any brand you like, but make don’t make your decisions based on Internet tabloids or fake news!

It must be a regional deal, because our walgreens didn’t have it on sale, but I did pick up one of the coupon booklets.
