I just filed our taxes using H & R Block’s FREE software. We had a very simple, W-2 return and were able to e-file both federal AND state for free. Same step by step process I love, same accuracy/audit threat review, etc. They won’t keep my return on file so I had to print copies for my own record keeping (which I did anyway) and next year I’ll have to enter my info again instead of “importing” it via their software. But, for a free return, I’ll take a few minutes to do that and save the money.
You can also get H&R Block premium free if you made less than $62,000 last year. United Way provides it through http://www.myfreetaxes.com

I followed the link a few minutes ago and saw the 50% off deal and went and shopped around and came back to the H& R block site and it no longer shows the 50% off sale. Am I doing something wrong?

Staples has Deluxe software for $19.99
Mack – Do you have a link or is it in-store only? It’s showing up 29.99 when I go to the Staples website.
Best Buy also had H&R deluxe for $19.99. I also got a $5.00 instant BB G.card. it didn’t say anything on the box, so it was a nice surprise. Don’t know if they’re still offering it tho.
Hmmmm both Staples and Best buy are $29.99 now. Shoot! I should have bought it this morning 🙁
