if you live in a cold climate (we are in MI) i would go with their squall line. Stormer isn’t warm enough IMO.

    • Amy

Thank you for this info! I was wondering if this would be warm enough for Chicago winters. We will keep looking.

      • kym

your welcome! Also agree with Jill that the squall is worth paying more as they last! I have bought from once upon a child, garage sales and new and the coats stay in great condition (even repeal dirt well). We also have the mittens (head brand is also good for mittens) and snow pants. Stormer is prob a good option in not so cold areas.

    • Jill

I agree! I love their Squall line. They have a great return policy too. After two seasons of use, the zipper broke. They refunded me the full cost of the coat! Four kids and I have bought many Squall coats since then. (From Utah)

It must vary because two years ago my daughter’s zipper broke and the CS on the phone said to mail it in and write down a couple jacket choices and they would send me another jacket. Well, I paid the money to ship it back and they sent me a $50 gift card, so no jacket and the gift card was not enough to buy a replacement one:(

I agree. Stormer line is so-so for warmth and not quite as strong of fabric, but the Squall is much better. The Squall 3-in-1 jacket has the zip out fleece, which is very helpful for layering in winter/spring/winter days of the Midwest lately haha

    Thanks Collin,
I got my daughter a down coat for next winter for $29.99 Great Deal!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! You’re so welcome!

  3. Sana

I wish I can figure out how to take advantage of this sale. The shipping just kills it unless you’re buying something priced over $100.

    • Sheila

I got a boys stormer jacket, a girls stormer jacket, purple fleece hat, lunch box for a total of $53.94. Regular price would of been $172.50

    • Katy

If you have a Sears near you. You can order in the store and get free shipping.

  4. Sarah

Thanks, I love these Land’s End clearance deals. So far we’ve gotten 2 pairs of snowboots, and now got a Squall coat for next year!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! You’re welcome Sarah!

  5. Jennifer

Any thoughts on the stormer, or expedition parka? Are these good for Ohio winters?

    • Cassandane

Squall is much better quality. Stormer is just so-so for warmth & strength of fabric.

    • Pamela

The Expedition Parka is really nice and rated for about -15 degrees. It is more money but worth it for a quality coat rated for serious cold weather.

  6. Stephanie

Don’t get the stormer- it is not warm enough for New England and it is barely water resistant. Every time my daughter plays outside her jacket is soaked. Never again.

    • Jennifer

I appreciate all the help. One more question. How about the squall parka?

      • Jill

I buy the Squall 3-in-1 Parka for my kids. We use them for all day skiing and other winter activities. My older son has worn his for winter Scout camp. We live in Northern Utah and this coat works great. I would also recommend the Squall snow bibs (they are awesome for skiing!)

  7. Kristina

The squall or expedition lines are excellent for our cold MI winters. They are all that my 3 kids have worn for the last 12 years. We are outside a lot and the kids are always warm and dry in these coats and snowpants!

Just used Ebates 2% cashback and my Shop your Way reward points for an excellent deal! Yay me!
