Just wondering if anyone else has seen the commercials about the j&j talcum (baby) powder and I’ve been avoiding using it on my newborn. Anyone else concerned or have info?

    • Emily

I would not use any Johnson and Johnson products on my children. There are way better options. (this is in no way a knock on the Hip2Save crew! They are my favorite ๐Ÿ™‚ )

    • C

My husband is a doctor and still uses it on himself, but I have avoided using it on my son. However, I haven’t had a great urge to use it either. I love Johnson’s and Johnson’s though. I even only use it for all my bath and lotion products myself . I’d be curious as to why they’re bad??

If you search for why people use baby powder It’s used to prevent diaper rash. But it is not safe because it is a powder and can hurt babies lungs and cause serious health issues. It has also been linked to cancer in women. I have 4 kids and have never used it once. I do not see the point. Just put diaper cream when they get irritated.

    • thanks!

I’ve never used baby powder either. There is no reason too. But I’m also the type that doesn’t go to the doctor for anything. I’m willing to bet that i won’t go to the doctor even if i think I’m dying. Lol.

      • AnnieL.

Haha I’m right there with you. Thanks for the laugh ๐Ÿ™‚ .The doctor is a rarity for me…I refuse to go for every little thing. Idk if I’d go if I was dying either LOL!!

This is a bit off topic but the only thing we use baby powder for is to get the sand off of us after a beach day. Pour some powder on you and the sand falls right off. Works like a charm. Best kept secret of beach life! Just a tip if you have a beach vacation coming up. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Suzanne

I hope I don’t cause my kids cancer, but I do use baby powder when their diaper rashes are really bad and the cream doesn’t stick because their skin is rubbed raw. I put the cream on and a quick squirt of baby powder to dry out the oozing. It works great!

    • laureen

For really bad rashes try dr.smith’s cream. My son is so senstive and it took me a while to learn he’s allergic to certain diapers. It clears up rashes pretty fast. And i’ve used a lot of different creams they have out there.
On a side not i wonder if i can use it to keep areas dry? With breastfeeding my boobs get pretty big and i sweat so much. It gets swamp underneath them. Any recommendations?

      • C

        I use cornstarch! ๐Ÿ˜€

        • Lauren

          Thanks. I will try that๐Ÿ˜Š

  5. Jennifer

The final cost for deal #4 is $52.36. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Whoops! Thanks for catching! Just updated! ๐Ÿ˜‰
