I have never submitted rebates with Toys R Us. Anyone have positive experience?

  2. JenniferS

Is this the same one posted last week for purchase from Costco?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yes.

  3. tanya

Limit is 3. That means i can buy 3 thermometers, and submit 3 times for both rebates?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yes! 🙂

  4. ASHLEY

I have this one and it is terrible. It never shows the correct temperature. I don’t recommend this one!

    • Karen

I agree I’ve tried two of them, and they never work.

    • n

I was going to comment the same. Both of my kids have been sick and I get different readings every time I swipe. Better off with a cheap forehead stick on.

      • Val

I have this one too and hated it. However, I have figured out that if I place the thermometer at the center of the forehead and then scan to one temple, then I get an “accuarte” reading and the reading will be the .1 +/- if I take it again.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Sorry to hear it has not worked well for you 🙁 Thanks so much for the honest feedback!

    • dblD-amber

Agreed. Never consistent. Cannot rely on it since I get different readings within seconds of taking different Temps.

  5. Jessica

I have send in rebates for this for almost a year yet no rebates back for me. 🙁
I hate using this as it doesn’t show the correct temperature, we will need to try it a couple of times and average the temperature.

  6. Lin

I love this thermometer and it’s the only one we buy now. I did this rebate last year. Do you think I’d be eligible for it again this year? I think I’ll try it! Can always use a spare one.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Have you submitted the rebates 3 times? They are good for up to 3 per person 🙂 Hope this helps!

  7. Jamie

This thermometer is totally inaccurate. I thought I was set after my first was born, but we opted to use basic rectal and then ear too actually get a proper reading.

  8. Sandra

I ordered one but may just have to cancel it. So many bad reviews and only ONE good review. Not taking my chances. Thank you everyone for your reviews on this thermometer.

    • Sara Hill

I have this thermometer and live it. The trick us to place in center of forehead, hold button, and take about 3 seconds to swipe from center to temple!

  9. Megan

We have 2 of these and I LOVE them. With all temporal thermometers, including this one, you need to use it exactly as directed to get an accurate reading. It needs to be swiped right along the hairline, from center of forehead to temple, or it won’t be accurate or consistent. This is true of ALL temporal thermometers. And obviously because it’s measuring skin temp, if your kid has been laying on the side of their face, or just took a bath, and then you immediately check their skin temp on that side, it’s not going to be accurate. Again, not because of the specific thermometer, but just because it’s a temporal thermometer and that’s the limitations of it. But as far as temporal thermometers go, we’ve been very happy with this one!

    • Kalynn

I agree. If I do it 3-4x, it might vary by .2-.4 degrees….maybe…. but never more, and that’s enough for a good estimate. You have to follow the directions and start in the middle of the forehead. It’s so fast, quick and easy. It’s not a problem for me at all to take 3-4 quick readings to verify. It takes all of 10 seconds. I really don’t get all the negative feedback.

    • bremoeller

I was just going to post this exact thing. We have one and use for all five of our kiddos and it works like a charm.

      • Emily Spencer

Yes. It is consistent within a few. 01’s of each reading. I have 3 kids and am happy with mine.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the helpful feedback on how to best use these! Good to know!

  10. Marie

We have this one and love it! I’m debating gettting another one as a backup.

  11. Lauren

Have it and hate it… my friend that is a nurse and had lots of experience using temporal thermometers also has it and also hates it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Darn! Thanks for sharing Lauren!

  12. Pal

I have had no trouble with this thermometer. I submitted for the rebate but didn’t receive anything. I looked for the status and I am not even in the database.

  13. Julie

I have this and have used it for 12 years. Once you learn how to use it it is extremely accurate. Our pediatrician’s practice and doctor friends all recommend it. It’s not hard to use, but takes a quick learning curve. I am confused on the rebates though–each coupon says one rebate per item, so how can you get it down to $4.99, instead of $14.99?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Julie! You can submit for both Rebates listed for a total of $20 back. Hope this helps!

    • Jessica

Hi Julie I am a newbie to buying this… what is the quick learning curve LOL I just bought mine today and so far I like it a lot. I read the instructions and I hope that I am doing it right LOL. When I checked my lil one’s head earlier he was running a fever and when I checked it before bed it was 98.8 so I believe I got it but just wanting to make eure LOL

  14. Lisa

I’ve had mine for 6 years now and it’s still going strong! It is easy and like some people said above I do a few quick scans as well and get a good idea .I don’t have anything to compare it to. Any other suggestions for a back up immeilking to try something new.

  15. Amber

I love ours. Great for when kiddos are sleeping they don’t even know your checking!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome to hear that! Thanks for sharing!

  16. Shann083

Probably a silly question, but anyone have any suggestions on how to give this thermometer as a gift and still send the barcode from the pacakage in for the rebate? I’d hate to give a gift where the package has been cut open.

  17. Jenna

The rebates say you need to submit the original receipt, and that one rebate per item…how are you able to use both the Mother’s and Friends and Family rebate to get $20 off?

    • Eisens

Just about ask the same question. The rebate clearly states “Can not be combined with any other offer.” One rebate is designed to before someone receiving a gift and the other for someone giving a gift. The $10 rebates need to be redeemed by two separate people. They are not intended to be used together by the same person.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! One rebate requires the barcode from the package and the other requires the receipt. Hope this helps!

  18. Me

Anyone else get a letter saying you did not meet minimum purchase requirements for the rebate?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Have you been able to contact them?
