Yay! I just picked a pair up for my son for next winter! I have not purchased BOGS before, are they pretty true to size? Also, the rain boots, do they hold up for winter boots? -as far as warmth.

    Thanks!

    • Heather

My kids have worn bogs for years. They run true to size or a little big. For example, my son is in a size five shoe but still wears his size four boots comfortably. It is nice because they can wear them more than one year. But they don’t complain about them being clunky if they are a little big.

Check the rating in the actual pictures on REI. Some of the boots that say insulated rain have a temp rating of -30. It will be on the back of the boot. We always get the boots rated at this but live in an area that temps drop below zero. Some of the rain boots are rated to 5degrees. I think it would depend on where you live. My kids never complain about their feet being cold. They won’t wear any other brand now!

I was wondering if they run true to size as well? Anyone out there with experience with these?

Hi there! Reader Heather above shared “They run true to size or a little big”. Hope this helps!

Thanks!! I am a bit confused on the sizing too (even after looking at the sizing chart). Any words of wisdom?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi Lindsey! Another reader shared that they fit true to size or a little big. Hope this helps!

We are on our third pair of Boggs for my 5 yr daughter. We Love these! We always buy a size up so she can wear them with thick socks in the winter if needed. I have only ever purchased the rain boots, and they hold up fairly well in winter. I also own a pair that I wear most of the cold season. I would say if your kid stays active they should be plenty warm, but if sitting out in the cold the toes can get a little chilly. (As a reference to our weather, we live in Montana – these stand up well to cold and wet weather!). Since we always order up, I’m not sure how true to size these are, sorry.

Thanks so much for the helpful feedback Heather! We sure do appreciate it!

Are these heavy like some rain boots? We love crocs rain boots because they are very light weight but still hold up extremely well! My 2 year old can’t get around well in the heavy rain boots so I was curious if these were made similar to a crocs boot?

  6. Karla

Bogs are heavier than crocs. We live on a farm and appreciate the durable construction of the boots, since lightweight boots do not last us long. This is a great price! Btw, I am a woman’s size 7 and can wear the kids size boots. This saves me a ton of money. Thanks for posting and helping me make my dollar go further 😊

What kids size do you take?

      • Karla
