   If anyone does the Bing/Microsoft rewards, you can get the Xbox membership for 29,000 points. I got one for my nephew at Christmas. It would probably take about 3-4 months to rack up that many points. Super easy to do.

   Does the Xbox live membership not work for both Xbox 360 & the Xbox One? I thought xbox live was just an Xbox account.

  It’s for both the 360 and the One. We have both consoles, and as I recall, my kids said that everyone can have a Xbox live account, but without the ‘Gold’ part, they cannot play with other players. Hope that helps! 🙂

  It works for both but what it actually does is let the players play online. It is tied up to an account and as long you are logged into both consoles (it’s allowed) anyone can play taking advantage of the membership. It’s not necessary to purchase couple of memberships for each kid or each console. Without this membership you can play offline or also called locally but the multiplayer part wouldn’t work. Besides that they offer free games at least once a month.
