I had one of these to store all of my kids photos. Don’t know what happened to it but got corrupted and I couldn’t access anything anymore. Lost all my precious pics

It’s best to keep two copies of everything. But still no guarantee that won’t happen. I keep one of these with many years of pictures. Then a smaller flash drive with one year on it. Keeping double of everything doesn’t take up much more room in the safe.
You can store in the flash drive temporarily but not for long coz they will get corrupted, too. I am an IT but a lil outdated for sure. I hope some fresh minds can post here where can you store for a long use. But I guess I’ll stick in printing them and put them safe storage aside from storing in all those high-techie hardwares.
That’s why you buy them 500 gig not those 1TB external drives. But, nowadays, I don’t think 500 gig exist now… ;( but to make sure them precious pics don’t get lost for me is I got them back up in the computer itself one for external drives and one for CD RW discs. It’s just me.
