On the fence? Check out what my sidekick Mary has to say…

We recently purchased a Ring Video Doorbell Pro since our neighborhood has had a few missing packages and break-ins over the past few months and I have to say it is really cool!

We actually installed it this past Saturday and ended up catching my daughter having friends over without asking us after we had just left the house when she was supposed to be doing chores (so she could go out later). I called her right after I saw her friends came over while we were out and asked her what she was doing and she said “Oh I’m doing chores” and I was able to immediately call her on it. Pretty funny as she said her friends came over to help with chores. Oh my – gonna be a long summer! 😉

Anyways, it’s pretty cool as it’s easy to install and you can make it as sensitive as you want it to so it can detect all motion or you can just have it notify you strictly when people ring the doorbell.

Your state could have a higher tax amount?

I heard the regular ring was hard to set up (requires 4 screws and need to be drilled) is the pro easier does it fit into your door bells previously screw holrs or do you need to drill?

    • Sarah

It wasn’t hard to install at all! It is larger then the old doorbell but I didn’t have to drill, just screwed in to the siding. Might need to drill of you have brick or cement siding but no need with regular wood siding.

We originally got the Pro but due to the voltage of our doorbell box 15v we couldn’t use it. It needed a minimum of 16v and we can’t locate the box so we took it back and got the regular one. It was easy to install and so far we like it. The only problem is that when cars go by it detects motion yet the mail lady dropped a package on my porch today and it didn’t go off at all, lol.

I love mine! Bought it at Costco with the extra chime as well for $169.

My doorbell is on the wall of the house not the door frame. It would only show whats happening in my neighbors yard…

They have an angle wedge adapter piece for this application so it angles the camera correctly. It’s available on their website. We ran into the same issue!
