I have this couch (full and loveseat) in mocha and I LOVE it! We have a toddler and it’s easy to clean and SO comfy!

    • Karen

Are the cushions sewn in or slide out?

      • Taylor S.

Slide out. When my little one “lost his food” all over my couch, I was able to just unzip the cushion cover and throw it in the wash!

        • kylee

          Thank you

    • Leah

Do the cushions pull out? Thanks!

      • amanda

The back cushions are sewn on, not removable.

    • Charmel

The material looks like a parachute material?? Is it comfortable?
This has been popping up on my ads for over a week and we are looking for a cloth couch because I do not want leather but I didn’t pay any attention to this one because it looked like an odd material. Now you have me giving it a look.

      • Taylor S.

Oh it is unbelievably comfy! What I like best about it is the back… It is so plush!

        • M

How long have you had it? I have a rough (and I mean rough) 3 year old boy. Is it “slick” feeling?

          • amanda

I’m pretty sure this is the same one I had, if do it’s microfiber. My rough boy made a good mess of ours. Sewn on back cushions eventually started ripping away. Others may have better luck though, different situation.

          • Taylor S.

We bought it right before he was born, and he’s 1 now. Still in perfect shape!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh awesome! Happy to hear how comfortable and easy to clean it is! Thanks so much for the great feedback!

There is also a bonded leather set for the same price! We are trying to decide which to get!

    • Mils

Bonded leather won’t last as long, especially with kids. Just my 2 cents!

      • Alyssa

        I went with fabric!!

        • Steph

We have had a similar microfiber Ashley furniture sofa set for over 12 years & it’s still in amazing shape. I don’t allow my kids to eat on or abuse our furniture though so things do tend to last a while around here (which Is why I still have a 12 yr old couch!) . Can’t justify getting rid of it when it’s still in great shape! I would not recommend bonded leather at all. Real leather lasts & looks great for years. Bonded “leather” cracks & peels quickly.

    • Jennifer

Bonded leather peels horribly. I think you’d regret it. Just my opinion, Google about boned leather if you’re leaning that way.

    • Jennifer

      *bonded.

    • Michelle

Oh we learned the hard way… We got a bonded leather sofa from Ashley and within 6 months is looked bad… Now I’m trying to find something to replace it with… Never again!!!

      • Susan S.

I agree! Paid $2500 for a bonded leather sofa & loveseat and within 6 months it started peeling. We recently replaced them, and even Goodwill wouldn’t take the set!
Stay far far away from bonded leather!!!!! No matter how good of a “deal” it may be…

      • amanda

Also learned the hard way with bonded leather. Ours started peeling where people rested their heads after about 3 or 4 years. It’s a shame because the couch itself was comfy and in great shape. Once it starts peeling, there is no stopping it

        • Bobbi

We had the same experience with our couch and loveseat. They are comfy and in great shape other than the leather peeling. It looks terrible and now we’ll have to replace them. 🙁

    • PJ

If it is otherwise in good condition, a slip cover would be a great solution.

    • Melissa

We had a bonded leather set and I had been turned down by the warranty after it started cracking and peeling after 3 years. I had seen an investigative news report though about a year afterward and re-contacted the company we had purchased from and referenced the news report, in which they were specifically a named party. They immediately got back to me and issued me a store credit for replacement furniture.

  3. Eyanki

Got it on saturday.. plus Ashley king bedroom set with sierra mattresses for $525 around

  4. M

What kind of material is this? Is it slick? It’s hard to tell.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Here is what I find in the details:
      “polyester/metal/other, spot clean”
      Hope this helps!

  5. Cheeseheadzmama

    Is this a microfiber fabric?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Here are the material details they list: “polyester/metal/other, spot clean” Hope this helps!

  6. Mellyann

Both sofa and loveseat totaled 588 and that’s with delivery and taxes! You can’t beat it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Such a great deal! 😉

  7. Andrew

I work at a furniture store in the Midwest and this sofa is the number one seller in that price point category. The reality is that you get what you pay for. It’s 2-3 year couch for a family. If it’s just you and you take really good care of it, maybe 5 years. You get what you pay for. And our regular price is $299.99 with no sale, so the $1000 sounds a little high even for msrp. Also, back cushions are attached, seat cushions are removable.

    • Sarah

Thanks for the info. I think I’ll pass.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful feedback Andrew!

  8. Becky

We had the Ashley Darcy sofa which is very similar style to this couch. It held up really well with 3 boys. The reason we got rid of it was the cushions always slid out and had to be pushed back in constantly. It made the couch very uncomfortable and messy looking.

    • Heather

Thanks for the heads up. I hesitated due to color (not sure how it will work in room I want the set in) so I opted to hold off and view in person at Ashley….price point about the same (for my area) as this JCP sale.

    • stacy

We fixed this issue with ours by putting a piece of rug liner under the cushions. It grips it just enough and doesn’t leave any residue.

      • rama revan

        Thanks for the tip!

      • Workaholic

        This! ^

  9. emailemail

Any idea how long is gonna take for delivery?

    • Deanneg2

It says they will Cora the you by June 28th with delivery date. Hth’s

      • Deanneg2

        *contact…. sorry

  10. Linda T

The website of JCPenney that you girls are showing says free shipping over 99$—Is that for the bedroom set only and not the couch?

  11. Jean

Any recommendations for a leather couch? We have been looking for a top grain leather couch that both fits our budget and design style and haven’t found one we like. With 2 boys under 9, I would like to get one that’s easier to clean than fabric..

    • Jennifer

      Catnapper makes great leather couches.

  12. mommyx4

I guess it all depends i have had my ashleys Bonded leather couches for 10 years couch is still comfortable but the leather finally started giving in. I have 3 boys that jump on them and 4 dogs that love getting on the couch I honestly think they lasted well over their time and for them to finally start peeling and still are comfy as they were when they were new well worth the price I paid. We did buy another set of couches and only lasted 1 year with our family

  13. Ashley

Loved this couch. We had it for 10 yrs! Our kids did do a number on it but it was easy to wipe up and clean for the first 6 yrs or so. After that not so much. No matter how much i wiped up it continued to look dirty so we had to replace. But we also bought it in beige which looking back now was a bad idea lol especially with kids.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks for The feedback Ashley!

  14. D

I had this or a very similar style Ashley sofa. The support beam that runs from the front to the back underneath the sofa in the center broke! We couldn’t fix it till we replaced it because it had bowed. The microfiber was horrible because it attracted stains from my kids and cleaning wasn’t how you would think. The fabric where I cleaned had water spots and even discolored. I personally won’t buy cheap or microfiber ever again!

  15. sara

I have this exact couch in the grayish color, it is ok. After a while it starts to slump, the cushions lose the firmness, I think it is very uncomfortable. However it does look good, and with lots of extra pillows for some sort of back support it isn’t too bad! The gray color looks grayish brown sometimes so goes with lots of other colors!

  16. Meg

Anyone have any feedback about how it holds up structurally? Do the cushions flatten out quickly? I have a big and tall boyfriend and I’ve been having a hard time finding couches or sectionals that hold up well over time.

  17. Jamie

I went to the store today and sat in it. It was really comfortable! I ordered it in stone. Even if it lasts a few years, it’s worth it! I went through Ebates and got 6% back!

    • April

I forgot to use ebates ugh

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for sharing Jamie!
