Still on the fence? See what readers had to say:

These are our favorite “cuppies” because there are no spills and they wash very easily.

Best. water bottles. Ever!! Better than camelbak because the spout is fully covered when closed to protect it from icky germs. Also, no germy fingers have to touch the spout with the button to open and the little plastic piece you can push on to close it. My 3 year old easily uses these. They wash up easy in the dishwasher and the straw just snaps, screw on the lid and it’s ready to go. They are the perfect size too. They fit easily in my purse and hold enough for an outing without being big and bulky. We own 3 of these.

I love these cups! I have 2 and am getting 3 more because of this deal! Best leak proof cup I’ve come across! Worth every penny!

(Thanks, Victoria!)

My son loves his! We’re due for a new one because he’s had it 2 years and it gets beat on pretty hard. The only thing you have to make sure of is you need to use something small to clean out the spout and underneath it or it gets gooky gross even after being washed but you’ll have that with just about anything.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience Candace! Good to know!

Is this a straw cup or one you need to tilt to drink out of?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I believe they do have a straw.

  3. Andrea

I’ve heard these are difficult to truly clean and can get moldy so I have hesitated buying them. Opinions?

    • Britt

I think they are really easy to clean, but I only allow water in ours.

  4. Maite

Are they only for toddlers? I have a 5 and 7 year old and was wondering if it was good for them too.

    • Elisabeth

My 5 year old loves them but has been using this style for years. The spout is the same as the adult style cups. These are smaller with kid friendly patterns.

      • Maite

        Thanks! 😊

  5. Christy

I love these!!! They are one of the few that I have found less likely to leak. I agree about cleaning them; you need the little brush thing that comes with most bottle cleaners.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome to hear that Christy! Thanks for sharing!

I went to the contigo website and the reviews regarding the mold are pretty bad, I don’t think I am going to get them. The pictures were pretty yucky!

    • Elisabeth

We only drink water in ours, we have one that’s close to 4 years old. I’ve never had a mold issue and only wash in the dish washer.

      • Maite

        Thanks for the info! 😊

  7. Steph-B

Only cups I buy for my kiddos … but we do strictly use only for lemonade and water. Never had a mold issue ever!

    • Steph-B

Also, I just put in the top rack in the dish washer and use the sanitize option.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great to hear that! Thanks for sharing your experience!

They’re nice in the beginning, but no matter how hard I tried cleaning them, I keep finding more mold. After the kids kept getting sick, I just threw them away. Everyone started to get well again. They sure do hold fluids nicely, but they do get moldy.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Thanks for the honest feedback Maria!

I have used the contigo bottles for years with all of my kids what I can tell you is this.. it is very possible to get moldy but that is true with so many things. I have a habit of detaching the straw from the lid and throwing it in the dish washer every day. If I forget a day it’s fine. I don’t let the bottle have anything else but water either. When it drys I let it dry completely before closing the lid so moisture doesn’t get stuck in there. If your prone to forgetting that you put apple juice in there 3 days ago in a hot car of course your going to get something funky. In my opinion as long as you clean accordingly you will be fine. And it is an amazing water bottle

    • Eve

How did u detach the straw? I pulled it out but now I couldn’t put it back together. Did you used a tiny screw driver to remove the screws?

    • Eve

Oops! I meant the flexible part that gets attached to the mouth piece, not the straw.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful tips Elise!

Costco has the 3 packs of kid’s Contigos for $11.99 on their website for their members.

These have been our favorites for a few years now. We never have an issue with leaks or mold (although we don’t offer juices). We occasionally have issues with seals detaching. But compared to all the the kid’s sippy cups, straw cups, and competitor cups (like Camelbaks) we’ve been really impressed.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the heads up Lacey! Looks like they are out of stock now from Costco.

  11. Nina

Yeah I avoided for mold reasons as well.. anything with too many crevices and parts will have this issue, especially when used with water.

  12. Sofie

Can anyone post a link to buy these, i dont see a link here. Thanks

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! It appears this deal can be found in store only. Hope this helps!

  13. NN

I bought a 3-pack of these from Costco for $11.99 recently and we took them on an international trip. Work great, definitely leak proof.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for the great review!

  14. Beamer girl
