We save SO MUCH MONEY on our electric bill with this bad boy! We live in the south, and (normally) have our home A/C set to 68 24/7. This guy pops our A/C up to 78 when we leave the house, and cools it back to 68 before we come home. Our average electric bill is $60 a month!

We love our nest too! The house we just moved into has one. We live in a 2 story in Houston and our bill hasn’t been over $115 so far this spring, which is a miracle for us. Husband works from home and I’m a stay at home mom, but it still keeps our bill down because we’re out of town quite a bit.

We got our first Nest when we lived in AZ and it literally paid for itself in 3 months. our bill went down $60 per month after the first month having it.

Love this thermostat! I bought it for this price for Black Friday two years ago and it’s very handy. I can control it from my phone and customize the settings how I want. I installed it myself and I’m no pro at DIY projects. Also, it sends me a monthly email telling me how many leaves I’ve collected for using my thermostat economically. Totally worth it in my opinion.

This Nest Third Generation Learning thermostat and the corresponding app lets you track energy usage and get tips on energy conservation, so you save an average of 10-15 percent on your heating and cooling bills. It programs itself to adjust the temperature according to your schedule.

Thanks! There is also a 20% cartwheel at Target for in-store. Ordered online for pickup and will have them ring it up with the 20% off when I get there.

Thanks for the tip Jay! Just got the last one at my store.

Did this work? Can I pick up in store for $199 and then apply the cartwheel for a price of $160?

        • JAY

No, it didn’t unfortunately. The in store price is $249, so it ends up right about the same price with the 20% cartwheel.

        • Kris

It worked at my store. She changed it to $199 then did the cartwheel and I paid $168 with tax. I guess it depends on the store.

Home Depot has it in the in store ad for $199 starting today (at least in my area). I had a moving coupon for 15% off in store purchase, so I bought 2 this morning.

Great buy Becca! Thanks for sharing your score!

  3. Jessica

So is it also $199 in store? Or is it regular price?

  4. sann

Also check and see if there is a rebate through your electric company. We got money back with ours. I think the regular price is 25.

    • sann

      woops, 250

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for the helpful tip Sann! Good to know!

I just left Target. My store price matched $199 and I used the Cartwheel. $167 total! I’ve been watching this for awhile and this is the best price I’ve seen!

If you have DTE energy, they’re offering a $75 rebate back! Don’t buy from DTE though, buy at these sale prices and then apply for the rebate (otherwise they just give you $75 off regular price).

I just bought this online right now from Bed Bath and Beyond. It allowed me to use a 20% off coupon so I got it for $159 plus tax. (despite it saying that the manufacturer doesn’t allow coupons for it!) Free shipping and 2% back from Ebates too!

So I just bought a thermostat, and installed it, it was not working, I had to install my old Lennox thermostat back, when i put it back, its not showing me anything, i had to call a technition and after diagnosis, he found out that our transformer broke and our control board in the outside unit broke, i had to spend $400 to replace transformer and i dont know how much it will be to replace the control board, i am due in 2 weeks and had to spend a night without ac going, my home is 90 degrees now and im in texas,
