Calling all you exhausted moms and dads! I feel your pain!

If you lead a busy life and don’t have much time for grocery or school supply shopping, this post is for you! For a limited time, new Walmart Grocery customers can save $10 off your first online order of $50 or more with promo code WOWFRESH at checkout.

How does it work? Walmart Grocery is a pick-up and delivery service available at select locations with no service fees or markups! Simply place your order online, choose a time slot and your order will be delivered directly to your car (some areas even have the option of home delivery)!

Here’s what you’ll need to do…

Head on over here and register to schedule your first Walmart Grocery order. Browse around and add $50+ worth of qualifying items to your cart including school supplies, grocery products and more! Once you’ve added everything you want to your cart, head to checkout and choose your Walmart location and a day/time slot for pickup (you’ll have an hour window).

Be sure to add a debit or credit card payment to your account and use promo code WOWFRESH at checkout to save $10 on your first order of $50 or more and you’ll pay just $40 for $50 worth of items (see the goodies I snagged above)! About 15 minutes before your pickup time, you will receive a phone call and/or an email from Walmart letting you know that your order is ready for pickup.

Then, head to Walmart and follow the signs to park in the Grocery Pickup lot. Once you’ve arrived, call the number on the sign and let them know which parking slot you are in and within a few minutes, a Walmart delivery person will show up at your car with your groceries and even load them in the car for you! Just sign your name on the tablet to accept your order.

I love Wal-Mart grocery pickup. It is so much easier to compare prices on line and I’m not tempted to buy extra.

I am obsessed with Wal-Mart pickup! With 3 kids under 3, one being 4 weeks it makes life SO much easier!

I was worried about them picking my stuff out – especially produce! But I can’t complain! I have had only one mixup where I got regular pretzels instead of the gluten free ones I requested. But everything has been great!! All the produce is exactly what I would have picked out. I love this service. With three boys, it makes life so much easier! And I spend less! If I forget something, we go without!

At first I didn’t want to order because I didn’t want to have mushy produce. I am very picky. But when I tried it. Wow, everything was great!! I have been doing this for the past month and I love it!

Well I certainly hope this service is better than their in-store pick up. I waited over 30 minutes a few days ago for an item ordered online. Walmart’s service has always been quite poor in my area. Wouldn’t trust them to pick out my groceries. But for busy moms or caregivers, I’m sure this would be a lifesaver.

  2. Laura

    I’m addicted to this! Lol

Happy to hear how much you have enjoyed this service Laura! 😉

This is great. I usually shop at Aldi’s but will go to Walmart if I have to. From the time I pulled in my spot, called them, they came out and we loaded the groceries and left was 6 minutes. My kids were thankful we didn’t have to step for into the store.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks for sharing your experience! Glad to hear how convenient it has been!

Kroger in my area has this and I love it! I’ve never spent more than 10 minutes there. I leave work, go pick up my order and home in usually 15 minutes (I live close to work and Kroger). But it is awesome. I checked and my Walmart doesn’t offer this yet but I added my name to the wait list.

I just started using this service and I’m addicted! Working mom to 3 kids under 4 means I never make it to the grocery store. Without services like this I’d be lost!! Plus the $10 off is great and I got another $10 off by referring my coworker to use it!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback Colleen!

I have been using this service for months and love it. We have a Winco here locally and I’ve found that I’m often paying about 10% more to shop at Walmart comparing regular everyday prices, but you just cant beat the convenience. When I know I don’t have time to shop or wont want to haul my kids with me, it is worth it! I have been really pleased with their selection of fresh fruit and produce, and have never had any issues with having to wait.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Good to know how helpful and easy this service has been for your family Sophie! Thanks for the review!

Not a single store in a 45 mile radius from my house has this. This seems like an awesome deal too!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Hopefully one of your stores will offer it soon!

  7. Kathryn

Tried and was impressed. They gave me referral number so friends can try and we both get $10 off next order. Not at every store in town, but worth driving past others to get there.

  8. Rebecca

I posted a helpful reply but I’m guessing they didn’t post it because it had my referral link? Which is surprising, for one, because I see people posting their links for one thing or another on basically every post. Also it’s not taking away from them, they just posted the same generic promo you see on Walmart’s website.

  9. Julie

It’s supposedly coming soon to my area, fingers crossed!! I wonder if you can still use savings catcher with pickup?

    • Lee

Yes, Julie, you can use savings catcher with pickup.

      • Julie

Thanks Lee! LOVE my savings catcher–I never use the money I get back, just letting it add up. Almost $200 so far!

  10. Liz

Safeway does home delivery. Free delivery on first order plus $20 off $50 with code “twenty”. Came right to the door, right on time. & best of all, most in store sale prices were included!

  11. Ashley

We love Kroger’s Click-List (same idea). Way better selection than our Walmart and they always pick out the best meat and produce.

  12. KB

I’ve been using this for the last few months and it’s great. A huge time saver for this mom of 3.

      Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

Just had my husband pick up an order today! And we got a goody bag of freebies 😍

      Sweet! 😀

I have always had a terrible issue anytime I do Walmart grocery pickup. Half the time, they are missing at least 6 or 7 things from my list which means I have to go to another store in addition to Walmart to get the things I need. Not only that but once they charged me for an entire order that I had to cancel (within my cancelation window because I couldn’t get there in time) I had to call Walmart customer service because the local store was NOT helpful and it took 7 days for them to refund the money to my account. I used to live in North Carolina and did Harris Teeter online shopping and grocery pickup which was AMAZING but after dealing with Walmart, I would rather just forgo online shopping and shop in store at another store instead.

Thank you for your feedback, Danielle!

Also don’t forget to submit your receipts to the Savings Catcher when you’re done. I’ve gotten about $6 back in the last few weeks.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for the helpful tip Colleen! Good to know!

  16. Nikki

Do you tip the person who brings out your stuff? It was always proper to tip commissary workers/those at like Piggly Wiggly for taking your cart out/unloading so I am curious! It isn’t available at my location yet..

    • Rebecca

No, they cannot accept tips, much like Publix. Military commissary is very different, they work for tips.

  17. Sara

Do they take coupons for this also

    • Tammy

No. They do not take coupons. Also, you don’t get a regular receipt, so you can’t use ibotta, etc.

      • Sara

        Ahh thank you

      • Happymama

Ohh that’s a deal breaker for me then. I was going to submit my receipt with Ibotta. Thanks for letting us know!

  18. Xna

I do not see those prices for the items you got. Like the crayola. It’s not the same price

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hi there! The prices for each item might have changed a bit since this order. It is an example of what you might grab to snag a similar deal. Hope this helps!

  19. Amy

I’ve been using grocery pickup from Walmart for quite awhile now. It has absolutely changed the way I shop! One thing that really helps is to allow substitutions on items whenever possible. If they are out of an item I order they will substitute for another similar item. Often times the substitution is higher priced but they still charge the lower price of the originally ordered item. It also helps to ensure that I am getting what I need and not going to have to make a shopping trip for my essentials if they are out of an item. I do this with items like bread and milk especially, they are pretty straightforward to substitute. I take a few of my big insulated shopping totes (like from 31) and a couple of sterilite square baskets (purchased from a great deal posted on Hip2Save), and carry all the groceries in with a single trip or 2. It has streamlined my whole grocery shopping process. My usual items are saved as “favorites” and makes shopping so much easier! I add to my online “grocery cart” as I need items instead of making a grocery list now. Another tip, I placed an order the day before, our daughter became ill and ended up having an asthma attack that landed us in the ER and hospital for a few days. I wasn’t able to pick up our order on the day I was supposed to. I called Walmart and they were wonderful and very flexible, and arranged our pick up for the next day when I was able to have a relative pick up our order for us. They keep the orders refrigerated etc. I often order so that my husband just has to swing by and pick up our grocery order on the way home from work. It has saved us hours of shopping time each week!

I tried it twice. Wasn’t impressed with my store. I waited 20 minutes in the car. My brother ran into the store and came out before they even brought me my groceries. They emailed me codes for money off my next order but none of the codes work so I quit it. I can save more money at Kroger or Target with coupons and ibotta. My local walmarts won’t even accept coupons anymore or they are picky with the ones they will accept. I will ask them why they won’t take it when it is not an internet coupon and they just shrug and say it won’t scan. It scanned at Kroger. Not sure why they wouldn’t accept it. Besides Kroger and Target will take two like coupons for the same product (like two $1 coupons off tide) where our walmart will make you stand in line again to get the second one if you want to use a coupon on it too. My brothers shop at Walmart but I don’t anymore. I guess I have more time than money. My brothers watch the grand kids for me so I can shop after work on my way home. LOL

  21. Izetta

Can I use coupons with this?

  22. Kristen

One of my nearby WMs is pretty good; the other (of course closest to us) is quite poor with long waits, missing items, etc.

However, has anyone noticed that they charge you, then leave the original pending amount hold on your account for a few days longer? I understand them doing it for a wee bit, maybe 1 day, while their system adjusts to what they were able to fill, etc, but one time it took four days to come off. Decidedly a hassle for a family on a budget!

Worst. Experience. Ever. Purchased the $50 and used the promo code. Went to pick up and they deducted 3 composition books. That put me under the $50, so they took away the promo code. Called customer service from the parking lot, with my order email in hand as well as the new price on a new email. Rude guy called me a liar and that my order totals never existed (reading right off email). They also then added in tax (we are tax exempt and approved through the website). Then, he said if there was a change in price, I “may” see an adjustment on my bank statement in a week or so. All store could do was issue 100% refund rather than hand me 3 composition books that are sitting right there on the shelf by the 100.
I may pay a few pennies more for Amazon, but well worth the stress free customer service.

  24. Penny

I love this service and use it weekly! There has only been one time where I did not receive one of my items but ended up with someone else’s. One quick call to customer and I was refunded. I don’t buy any fresh meat using the pickup service because I am too picky. And usually don’t buy any meat from Walmart anyways. I have done fresh fruits and veggies and was pleased. My order has always been prompt when arriving and delivering to my car, waiting no longer than a minute or two. After reading the comments here I did not realize you could submit to savings catcher! I have never received a paper receipt so how does that work?
