Summer Watermelon Punch Recipe

Watermelon Punch

yield: 10 SERVINGS

prep time: 15 MINUTES

total time: 15 MINUTES

Ingredients

  • 14 lb. seedless watermelon
  • 1 and 1/2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 and 1/2 cups sparkling water
  • melon balls and or mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Directions

1

Cut about one third of your watermelon off the top, then scoop out all the insides from both sides.

2

Puree the pieces of watermelon in a blender or food processor and then strain the solid pieces (I strained over a large pitcher). You may have to do this in several batches.

3

Add pineapple juice and sparkling water to the “bowl” and pour in your strained watermelon juice.

4

Mix together and chill the punch and bowl in the fridge for about an hour or until ready to serve.

Need a fun summer drink idea?! 🍉

Take advantage of ripe watermelon and make some delicious and refreshing Watermelon Punch! This easy-to-make drink is perfect for your next summer BBQ or gathering. In addition to being a very affordable beverage to serve (I found a large seedless watermelon for under $5 at Costco!), the punch just looks so pretty and festive in the punch bowl.

We LOVED this fun party drink!🍹

My watermelon actually made more juice than expected so I saved it in a pitcher to make even more punch later. Easily make it an adult beverage by adding rum or even white wine. CHEERS!

✔️HELPFUL READER TIP: “You might think about freezing any “extra” watermelon juice to use as ice instead of ice cubes. That way your punch won’t get watered down with regular ice cubes that melt.”  Hip2Save Reader, Lisa

Just saw a video showing how to make it even easier- cut the top off the watermelon and put your immersion blender right into it to purée and get the juice!

That’s a great idea, Jill! Thank you for sharing! 😀

Sounds great! But this just goes to show how terrible my mind is. I automatically assumed it was an “adult” punch. When I got to the ingredients list, I thought, they forgot to list the alcohol!

    • Amy

She did say it’s a party drink….just not what kind of party!

    • Juliana

Ditto! Lol! May be good with some vodka added 😉

We bought a “watermelon tap” at Bed, Bath and Beyond. It was a great hit at two parties. The punch would be great in the hollowed out watermelon. We used the tap once for an adult party mixed with liquor and for July 4th- with no liquor. Great either way!

      That’s a great idea! Fun

Whenever I get a bad watermelon (too mushy, no flavor, etc), I always make what we call watermelon juice. Just blend the watermelon and some vanilla extract or vanilla italian soda syrup and it’s good to go. It’s my daughter’s favorite thing. She’s actually disappointed when we get a good watermelon!

I made an adult version of this last summer – instead of the sparkling water use sparkling wine. Everyone loved it – so yummy!!

  6. Gina

Could you use sprite/7up instead of the sparkling water?

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      Yes sounds great!
