I was wondering if you could can in this?

    • Jeanna

No. You can not can in an electric pressure cooker.

    • Kantis

Yes, you can. There is even a setting for canning.

      • Jessica

This particular model does not have a “canning” function. You cannot (should not, unless you want botulism) PRESSURE can in an electric pressure cooker. You can water bath can in it though.

        • Samantha

Why not? It’s literally a pressure cooker. It cooks things by sealing itself and applying pressure.

          • Deborah

The PSI is not high enough for safe pressure canning. You can safely can anything that you would do in a canning kettle with the water bath method. This would be acidic foods like tomatoes and pickles.

    • Sharon

I have a power pressure cooker xl and you can do canning in it 😁 It has a canning setting and comes with an instruction booklet.

  2. Suz

    Great price!
I got mine on cyber Monday for $68

  3. Lauren

Does Kohl’s ever offer an extra incentive for signing up for a charge card? I am just debating signing up for one now. Thanks!

    • Delia

They don’t however you get incentives for being a cardholder like this sale or extra percentages off or free shipping, etc. Go for the card!

      • Lauren

Thank you for the advice 😊

        • Jennifer

I despise store credit cards but Kohl’s is the only one I have. The incentives each month are just too good to pass up. Hth!

      • Dana

Actually I think u get an Extra percentage off if I apply in store

    • Joy

I’m not sure about the sign up incentives… but just having the card has many incentives. I’ve had my card for 18 years now and they just sent me an $18 gift card. I get one every year I’ve had my card. I also get $10 on my birthday and random $5 and $10 off anything cards throughout the year not to mention the scratch offs and 30% off coupons. It’s definitely my fave store card.

    • sophia

I think when you open the card you get like 30% off for two days? I’m planning on opening mine during Black friday 😀

    • TJ

I got 30% off when I opened my card a month ago. I think it was off my first purchase?

    • Stacie

Yes. Right now you get 30% off for opening a credit card. As always, exclusions apply for brands like Nike, Columbia, etc…

    • Sharon

Just thought I’d let you know I got a 30% coupon for getting the charge card today. I don’t know how long the promo lasts, and the real bad news is the coupon code is only good until tomorrow, but I guess that’s good enough if you need to use it right now!

  4. crystalsnow

OMG it’s coming to $46 for those with an additional $10 reward! I have one for my birthday! This includes the $10 cash back.

    • Eyanki

My bday is in this month only.. how dod you get this reward?

      • Jamie

I got one emailed to me as well, no clue how!

      • mckeeversmom

If you are part of the yes2you program, part of the sign-up is your birthday. They use this to send you an email with a $10. coupon good for the month of your birthday as a one-time use coupon.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet! Happy Birthday! 😀

  5. Ashley

    Got one, thank you!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Ashley!

  6. Elaine

I got one. Thanks! This was exactly the deal I was hoping for.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Perfect! You’re so welcome Elaine!

  7. Ladonna

    Woohoo thanks!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re very welcome!

    • a. rich

Thought about you Ladonna, knew you had been looking for one

  8. Jamie Hanson

Discover Card Holders – Check your deals page for a $10 off $30 coupon that can be stacked with this deal! You can actually just use it on a $10 purchase since it shows up as Kohl’s cash too, if you want. 🙂

    • Karri

Thanks Jamie for the heads up on the Discover Card deal, I learned something new about my Discover Card. Thanks again

    • Amanda

Where do you find that deal. I googled discover card deals and I only found 5 pedrcent back at kohls

      • KK

Go into your Discover App or sign in online account and click on Discover Deals. Search for Kohls and there will be two offers: one for 5% cash back and a $10 off of $30 purchase (just use as regular $10 Kohls cash, don’t need to spend $30, can be stacked with other codes/cash) Check back often. I get it almost monthly!)

    • Lindsey

Thanks Jamie! I didn’t know about these deals with my discover card! With this additional discount I got this for $55 plus the ?”$10 Kohl’s cash!!

  9. Lacey

Just curious, what’s the big rave about these? Is it one of those things I never knew I needed? Lol

    • Jennifer

Hi Lacey, they’re much safer than pressure cookers on stove, you can’t open until you release pressure. You literally set and walk away. Cheap cuts of meat for pulled BBQ, chili tastes better in here because it pushes all the flavors together. We love to make sausage gravy for biscuits & gravy. They speed up cook time & don’t heat up kitchen in summer. HTH.

    • visitor3

Yes. Cross between a pressure cooker and a slow cooker. Its a fast-cooker you plug in, so no constant tending to the pot on the stove. Braise meat right in the pot on hot setting like a frying pan, then toss the rest in, lock down the lid, and food is ready so fast. It’s been nice having hearty meals this summer without heating up the house. Lends itself to heavier “winter” cooking — stews, ribs, chili (even use dry beans, so cheap), soups.

  10. Cheryl S.

Yea! Grabbed this. I didn’t get the one on Prime Day because I thought 8 quart was a bit much for a family of three. Glad I waited!

  11. Kerrie

6% cash back through Ebates too!

  12. Karrie

Got one! I headed over here to tell you earlier, but you had already posted it 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy you could score one Karrie! 😉

  13. Cherdh

Got two for Christmas gifts! Mine rang up for $68.87 after tax!

  14. Autumn

Anyone doing the Ultra? Comes to $108 with tax for me.

  15. cobbersmom

Love my Instant Pot (I have a duo60 and a duo60 Plus) so much that I’ve given one as a wedding present, and the one I snagged from this deal today will be a Christmas present for my son and his gf. Such wonderful devices – I use mine at least a few times a week (yogurt, oats, jam, veggies, dump meals, cake, cheesecake (!), bone broth and chicken for the dogs, lots more uses).

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How cool! Thanks for the feedback! Good to know how many yummy items you have been able to make with yours!

  16. Rach

Now I’m thinking if I’ll return the one I got from Amazon yesterday 🤔

  17. dealhousewife

I’m thinking I wish I would’ve gotten this instead of the Tupperware one… I’ve only made 2 things in like 6 months. :/ & the chili I made was good, but since the meat wasn’t the expensive kind, it was way too much grease & hurt my stomach. (downside to being able to just throw the meat in raw) the instant pot seems to have many more options!

  18. Jess

    $67.56 after tax here!

  19. Annalise

Yay! I have been waiting for the best deal on a pressure cooker. Don’t forget – 6% cashback on Ebates! Got mine for $63.62 all in (+ $10 Kohl’s Cash). Thanks H2S!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome!

  20. Kristina Grimard

I’m returning my Amazon one for sure! Much better deal

    • LizN

The one from Amazon is an 8 qt and this one is a 6 qt so I am debating too. Is it worth the extra 30 dollars for the additional 2qt? And also it seems like it’s easier to find extra parts for the 6qt than the 8qt. Wish someone can give me a better insight.

      • crystalsnow

A 6 qt honestly is easily enough for ten adults, plus children. It can cook 6-8 lbs of meat, 5c of rice, etc. The six qt also sits easier under cabinets, fits easier into cabinets, can find accessories easier, and comes to pressure quicker. Now unless you freezer cook for a football team daily, you won’t really need 8qt. I have a regular stovetop 8qt which I use about 2 times a year..for my family of 5 I use Either the 5 or 6 qt daily.

        • Wren

          This was helpful, thanks Crystalsnow

        • Heather

I agree -i have 4 Kids, and we regularly have leftovers with the 6qt.

      • Jill P.

I have no idea how one can say a 6 qt is enough for 10 adults + kids! I had a 6 qt for my family of 5 and found it too small. And we are all girls except my husband, so not huge eaters. Keep in mind you can only fill 2/3 of the way, so really a 6 qt is like a 4 qt. I do not regret getting the 8 qt & love it. I also don’t find it takes up much more space to store than the 6 qt, & have no trouble with accessories.

      • wiseguys95

I started with a 6 quart, and later added a second 6 quart. I’ve never had a problem with them not being large enough. I did have a problem with needing another pot when the first one was tied up with something else, especially yogurt which takes all day. I’ve never desired a larger one. We are a family of four. I really love the Instant Pot, and once you have it, you start to think of all kinds of things you can use it for. I use mine every single day. I always begin my day by using it to heat some milk in a Pyrex glass measuring cup for my coffee (I’m not big on microwaves).

  21. Kara Jean Hall

I almost bought the amazon 8 qt the other day but couldn’t justify it. I have a small family of 4 would this be a good size? Help! I really would like one but don’t have much space and small budget so didn’t want to splurge and not use it!

    • Jean

      Exactly my thoughts, Kara! 😬

    • Hollie

I got one for Christmas and never use it… I prefer my crock pot! I’m home all day and prefer to start my food early rather than around dinner time. I am not a fan of slow cooking in the instant pot. Hope that helps!

  22. Bcharts

I just ordered mine but it was 67.40, still a great deal.

  23. Misty

I bought this one about a month ago and have used it almost exclusively since then. (Family of 4, and it’s a good size for us, but not many leftovers.) My kids are begging me to stop cooking so we can go out to eat (which we usually did WAY too often.) It takes some getting used to learn the timing and what types of things work well in it. Basically, my advice is this: if you like to cook, you are good at it, and you like the food you normally prepare to come out the way it normally tastes, this is probably not for you.

I love it because I hate to cook, I never know what to cook, and it saves me time. (I’ve never used the slow cooker feature.) By the time you add time for pressure to build and release, it’s never as fast as the cook time listed on the recipe, but you just stick it all in there and forget about it until it’s done.

So far, we’ve enjoyed: Pork chops and mashed potatoes (cooked at the same time), chicken to shred for tacos (using frozen chicken breasts…did not thaw first!), lasagna (you do need a special pan for this… I didn’t even boil the noodles first–just broke those crunchy suckers up and put them in the pan!), cheesecake, roast with gravy (both pork and beef at different times), beef stroganoff (my kids’ fave!), baby back ribs (so fast!), potato salad (without having to peel eggs!!!–cooked potatoes and eggs at the same time!), and “boiled” shrimp with potatoes and corn.

It’s not for everyone, but I LOVE it. If you decide to get one, I recommend joining the Instant Pot Community facebook page… lots of good recipes and helpful info.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How neat! SO awesome to hear how useful the Instant Pot has been for your family Misty! Thanks so much for the helpful feedback! 😀

    • sara

      Thank you!

  24. Bre

I got one! Whoo hoo I was on the fence on amazon prime day and glad i waited.

  25. Sarah

Thank you thank you thank you. I pass this up on Amazon prime day. I’m so excited.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Sarah!

  26. Nancy

I would like to buy one of these in the future and like to read all these posts about the Insta Pot. Can anyone comment on what extra items or accessories are needed for a Pot? Are they easy to clean? I also love reading about the recipes and meals that people make.
    Thanks for all the info!

    • Misty

The only accessories I have are the Fat Daddio 7 inch push pan (Amazon has it) to use for lasagna and cheesecake, and a little steamer basket. I also use a little pyrex baking dish that I already had. Anything that goes in an oven (and will fit) can go in the pot. Yes, it’s very easy to clean. The insert can go in the dishwasher, but I usually just handwash it.

    • Amy

The most important accessory you will need right away is an extra sealing ring. They absorb smells so you’ll want one for savory dishes, and another for non-smelly foods. I learned the hard way that yogurt can taste like smoked turkey stock.. From there, if you know you’ll want to make cheesecakes, a Fat Daddio push pan may be of interest. Amazon has the sealing rings. The prices really go up and down on the single clear one. I’ve seen them ask as much as $20+ for it. It comes down to just a few dollars, but becomes an add-on item if it drops very low. They also sell a lid for non-pressure cooking applications, but most people find that they have something in their kitchen that will work, like a pie plate.

    • momdkk

I would most definitely buy an extra inner pot.

  27. Krishna

I’m not sure if I should splurge for the duo plus which has the cake, egg, and sterilize feature. Any thoughts on that? TIA

    • cobbersmom

I have both the duo and duo plus. I basically use them both the same way, which means the extra buttons really don’t make all that much difference. Most of the recipes you’ll find online and in various books will have you use the “manual” or “pressure” buttons and then adjust the times according to what’s cooking, meaning all the fancy preset buttons are unused most of the time. I do use the yogurt button and the soup button, but the regular duo has those, so I would say it’s probably safe to save your money and go with the duo. Lots and lots of folks in the Instant Pot Community facebook group make cakes and boil eggs just fine in a regular duo without those specific buttons. I hope this helps you decide 🙂

  28. Chantell

Thanks for posting this deal! I’ve been holding off getting one, waiting for a great sale, and this is it! This is the best deal on these I’ve seen, to date!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Super glad to hear that you could snag it Chantell! You’re most welcome!

  29. Dayna Ley

Great deal! So excited – saved a $50 gift card from Christmas…..glad I didn’t load it to my wallet where I already had other gift card balance so that made it possible to use just the $50 to the purchase with all cardholder codes and Discover $10 offer – paid $10.81 on my Kohl’s card.

  30. SAN

I have a 10 off 10 Bonton coupon. Would love to trade with kohls cash or jcp 10 off 10 coupon. Pls email sanatauseef at gmail dot com

  31. Jodi

Kohls had mailed me a $15 off $50 code (Like Kohls Cash), plus used the Discover Card code, and the codes mentioned above. It was less than $50. Added a picture frame and pair of socks to get the $10 Kohl’s cash. Woo Hoo! Thanks Hip2Save!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

SWEET! You are so welcome Jodi!

  32. latha

    Hi
Thanks for posting such a great deal. I bought this Instant Pot from Kohl’s.Thanks a lot

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome!

  33. Kellie

Does this inside come out for easy clean-up or is it all one piece?

    • Jessica

The inner pot and lid are both removable and the pot is dishwasher safe as well.

  34. Karen

Out of stock. What to do?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How odd. I am still finding this to be in stock as I click through to checkout. Are you using a mobile device? If not, maybe check again in a different browser. Hope this helps!

      • Karen

        Yes! It worked. Thank you!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          Yay! You’re so welcome Karen!

  35. dealhousewife

Thanks for all the helpful information/reviews!
I think I’m gonna get this! 🙂 (& sell my tupperware one lol) my total comes to $59.35 shipped (including tax)! (I had a $10 Discover card code too) Plus the $10 Kohl’s cash & 6% cash back from Ebates. Sounds like a steal to me! 🙂

  36. Jen L

A friend turned me on to this site and this particular savings tip! SO glad I found my Kohl’s CC and was able to use it! My total came to $67.40… way better than the $99 at Target and even the Prime Day Deal of $87 (or something close to that). Thanks!!! 😀

  37. Nichele Bergmanis

Much better then PRIME DAY Deal. Too bad I already have one …………………..

    • Jessica

I purchased my second one today with this deal. My first instant pot was purchased for $75 during Mother’s Day promotion from target.

  38. visitor3

Its pretty small inside, but you are willing to use small jars, or do tiny batches?

  39. Tami

In order to use the discover coupon, don’t you need to put on your discover card? But for all the other promos you need your kohls card??

    • Becca

Nope! Just go on the discover website, sign in, go to discover deals, and it should be there. It says $30 purchase, but it loads as $10 in Kohl’s cash.

      • Sharon

Hmm, when I go to Discover Deals, click on “Shop Now” I get a dialog with the deal. Then I click “Continue” and it goes to the Kohl’s website. But, the Kohl’s cash isn’t there. Have tried several times. Any idea of something I might be doing wrong? TIA.

        • Sharon

Also, it does say in the fine print that Discover card must be used for purchase. Maybe you just got lucky, computer glitch? 🙂

        • dealhousewife

When I click on “Discover Deals”, it loads different merchant squares with the header “Offers for You”. Kohl’s is the first one (for me anyhow). It states “$10 off a purchase of $30 or more”. And in small print in the bottom right of the square it says “instant savings”. When I click that it gives me a page with a bar code/number and a PIN number. Enter that like Kohl’s cash at checkout. It automatically just loads $10 like you had it as Kohl’s cash. So it doesn’t even matter how you pay at checkout.
This is how it worked for me. I was going to use my Discover at checkout, but then didn’t even think about it when I had to use my Kohl’s charge card to complete the purchase (with other codes). Ah well.
          I hope this helps.

          • Sharon

THANK YOU, YOU ARE THE **BEST**! Lol, how crazy can I go for an extra ten bucks? Seriously, though, I thought about doing it that way and was just too lazy to type in those numbers until you showed it works.

Final price: $59.35 including tax, that’s almost half the original price. For anyone wondering, the $10 isn’t exactly $10 because it lowers the 30% that comes off. Still, happy.

And, since you kindly took the extra time to explain the Discover Deals in detail, hopefully others will get it, too. Your good deed for the day, for sure. 🙂

            • dealhousewife

NP! Glad you could snag the deal too! 😉 But I hear ya on the 30% discount. It’s a bummer that it comes off the final price (After all $$ off codes) It reduced after the $10 off $50 code too. ah well. still great & I can’t wait to get it & use it! 🙂
Now I just need to wait until Christmas time again to snag the deal on the Kitchenaid Pro 6qt that I missed out on last year…. praying it’s as sweet again! :-O (It was a hot deal already and I had the 40% off, but it was only good for 1 day & I went to bed forgetting to finish checking out!) lol

  40. Sandra

Thanks so much for posting, Collin. Love all your deals!

  41. Julie

What is the difference between this and a slow cooker? I have 4 slow cookers and I’m obsessed w them but wanted reviews on this??

    • crystalsnow

Slow coming gets things done slowly. This works in overtime and gets it done in 1/3 of the time of stovetop cooking. For example chili in 4-6 hours in crock pot, and 2 hours on stove, and just 30 min in the pressure cooker.whole chicken in 25-30 min in here…rice in 4 min…etc

  42. Jess

I love that the Kohls cash from this purchase is valid the 20th-30th and still coincides with the current promo codes. I always end up with Kohls cash and having to pay shipping so it cancels out.

  43. Trisha

My Home Depot has an aisle display of these on clearance for 39.99

  44. Trisha

    My bad wrong brand. Sorry!

  45. Dana

I’m so glad I got the one on Prime Day. We had been kind of holding out for the 8 qt and that was the first real deal I had seen on it.

  46. Danielle

thank you so much! I also used Swagbucks and will get 4% cash back too.

  47. Allyson

Got one and reserved for pick up at store. $63 including tax and received $10 kohls cash. I used $5 kohls cash and went through top cash back for 3% back. Can’t wait to try it!

  48. June

Mine has been shipped, thank you so much. I have been waiting one since last year, can’t wait to try it.

  49. Sharon

I was going to wait for Black Friday but so happy to be able to get it now. Bet it won’t even be cheaper then. So, wow, thanks for this great post!

  50. Holly

Can you do this in store?
