Heads Up Chick-fil-A Fans!

Over the next few months, Chick-fil-A will be rolling out family-style meals in three select cities –> Greensboro, North Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona; and San Antonio, Texas.

These family-style entrees start at $30 and include an entree (like chicken nuggets, 12 chicken strips, or four chicken breasts), two sides (bacon baked beans, a fruit bowl, mac and cheese, a salad, or a superfood side) and eight mini rolls. Plates, utensils and condiments are also included.

Based on customer feedback in these 3 cities, Chick-fil-A will then determine if Family Style Meals will be added to menus nationwide. For more information head here.

Such a neat idea! We love CFA!

  2. Keith

This will not go well where I live. If waffle fries aren’t included there will be fights.

    • Steph

      This 😂😂

  3. Allison 💙

We’re close to Greensboro but I don’t know if we’ll try this. A family meal for 4 people for $30 is a little pricey (granted, with children, you could stretch it to more people with the nuggets or strips). In comparison, our McDonalds has a family meal with 2 Big Macs, 2 cheeseburgers, 10 nuggets, and 4 small fries for all of $9.99!

    • Sarah

I agree. Chick-Fil-A is expensive! My kids love it though so I just make it as a treat to them.

      • Allison 💙

Exactly! And when it is a treat, I’m ordering a 12ct nugget to split between them to save money 😂😂

    • Allison 💙

AND YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR DRINKS!😳

    • J

How do you get that deal??

      • Allison 💙

What deal? Chick-fil-A or McDonalds? The post details Chick-fil-A so… you ask for the family meal at McDonalds. I don’t know if all locations are participating. There’s no signage at my McDs but they DO make it so you’ll just have to ask…

    • April

What seriously I never heard of that but I’ll be asking next time I’m at McDonalds.

      • Allison 💙

It’s not advertised very well. I had to ask because there was no poster or and nothing on the menu about it.

  4. Andrea

Sounds like a good idea, but expensive for what you get.

We were just at chik fil a in Greensboro on vacation last week, hah. We spent $25 for 2 adults and 2 kids, $30 seems pricey. And, let’s face it, the toddler really only eats the fries and milk, so no fries wouldn’t work.

I myself like CF, but was so bummed to learn that they cook things in peanut oil. — My little one is allergic. They just built one near us too.

    • Mom2boys

Peanut oil is actually safe for peanut allergies….hard to believe but I guess it is at such a high temp it cooks off. Look into it and you’all be surprised! My little one is highly allergic to nuts but can eat CFA!

      • Jasmyn

I would talk to your allergist about it but CF uses Highly refined peanut oil which has been said to be safe for most people allergic to nuts. I was told this is different then regular peanut oil (which I personally would never let my Peanut/Tree nut allergic son eat.) He has thankfully eaten at CF with no problems but please check with your doctor first. 🙂

    • Andrea

Yes, peanut oil is 100% safe even for severe peanut allergies.

      • Amy

Our allergist told us that peanut oil is safe and my daughter eats there with peanut allergies.

    • Mindy

Waffle fries are made in a separate fryer WITHOUT peanut oil! They also have grilled chicken nuggets (and other grilled options). I am allergic to peanuts too and happily eat these 🙂

    • Elsa

I *think* the food allergies usually have to do with the protein and the oil doesn’t contain the protein. At least, that’s what I’ve read and been told by our allergist. All 3 of my kids have peanut allergies but can eat CFA just fine, thankfully.

      • V

Hi ladies. Thanks so much for the allergy tips! I will consider them. Odd, my daughter’s allergist told us there are two methods of cooking in Peanut oil. A hot and cold method. One method is not 100% safe. So he just said abstain from both as much as possible, and that we shouldn’t risk it.

I recently changed my diet to accommodate health concerns. Our family took a road trip and I was happy to pay a little extra for “healthier” fast food with good service… In the past McDonald’s was our go to with the dollar menu, but to each their own.

  8. Crystal

This seems very expensive. You can do better off their regular menu combos and it comes with a drink.

  9. FG

this seems a bit expensive for what you actually get. if it’s for 4 people, isn’t it cheaper to just order 4 meals off the regular menu? for example if each chick fila sandwich meal is about $5 (i know it’s diff prices in diff cities) then for 4 people it’s about $20 and you get fries as a side and a drink.

For us, we use the Chick-fil-A app and save lots. We get a freebie item usually once a week so for our family of four, we usually can eat cheaper than $30. Glad to see them try something new though.

    • Aubrey

This! We love the app and how they randomly give you free items. I currently have 3.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

  11. Momof2

I hope this makes it to other cities asap! I love Chick-fil-A

  12. Iluvh2s

Just take my money now, lol. I love CFA so much.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Lol! 😉

  13. Jeanette

I could see families choosing this for a Sunday lunch meal, but no CFA on Sundays!

  14. Carletta

I live in Greensboro. Can’t wait to try it!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome!
