I spent an extra $10 on school supplies for teachers at my sons school. People were complaining about the cost of supplies on a local FB site and it got me thinking about how I can coupon…… get a ton of stuff and give it to those teaching our children. I bought 17 items at staples by couponing and price matching! Nice pens too!

As a teacher I thank you!

    • Brandy

Fellow teacher here chiming in with gratitude!! We really do spend lots of our own money and even with scoring the deals, the limits don’t extend as far as our needs. Thank you!!!

    • Diane

      This teacher says>>>thank YOU!!!!

      How sweet! Thanks for sharing!

I am a teacher and I thank you! Every year it gets more and more expensive for me to help my class. My class size continues to grow and more parents do not have the financial means to purchase supplies for their children.

I think it’s amazing that it says “boys backpack” on the tag. Why would they have to specify?! Is it somehow anatomically different?!

    • Erin

It’s just a way to categorize an item — it has to be put somewhere! There are lots that are very girly and lots that are very boyish and then some are more neutral but need to be put somewhere.

Haha, clearly girls can’t wear a gray backpack!! That’s a BOY color!! Gotta love when they gender items that really do not need to be gendered.

    • Abby

Good grief. Believe it or not, there are still us “crazy” people out there who like to buy gender specific items for our children. If it was all mixed together it would make it a lot more difficult to find what you’re looking for!

I do believe it’s not the kids that mind these, it’s the parents that make their kids mind this. Have you seen a video on FB where 2 interracial friends who are kids were asked how they are different? You will be surprised what they said, it’s not about the color of their skin…. it’s the parents/adults that make their kids hate others and make little things like “boy” on tags matter.

The original post had nothing to do with gender. It was about savings . Your issue about gender labels should be voiced to the backpack company.

I caught some folders on sale at a local grocery store and when I told the clerk I was buying them to donate for school drives, she said they were anxious to get rid of them, so I got all the folders at a reduced price from the sale price! That was so nice of her! And yes, she made sure it was OK with management!

Anyone know of any printable coupons for these products?

  7. Michelleg

Can you use more than 4 of the same coupon in one transaction?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The Bic coupon has a limit of 4 per household, per day. Hope that helps!

    Hi Teachers,

I have two elementary aged kids. What would be extra items the Teacher would use?
I wasn’t sure if it was extra anything such as crayons and paper.

Thanks for your input, it’s trying to help out whomever our teachers will be this year.

    Thanks for all you do!

Just a note, the bags of lays potato chips are 2/5 and B2G1 free. Don’t bother getting three unless you want them. They do not ring up free, just 2.50. They are 2.95 and then they take a discount off for .49 which brings them down to 2.50. No free bag at my store here in Arkansas.
