        I’m speaking with someone named Mark @Redbox and he is assuring me that it’s not a scam (as someone said they were told) and because I’m using my Safari web browser they need to update/refresh their system. I was told to wait 10 minutes max and then try again. If it won’t work I think I’m just going to file a complaint with Groupon and/or Paypal to get my $$ refunded.

      Egads. I figured out how to redeem it but Redbox is giving me a message that the gift
      card number isn’t valid. 🙁

      A webpage with “Register Now” should come up and then you just enter in the info from there.

    Groupon said I needed to talk with Redbox about the code not working. Redbox says they no longer take these cards and it is a scam. Now to get the mone back from Groupon.y

    I was on hold for 25 minutes with redbox and was hung up on before I spoke to anyone. What a nightmare and a waste of time! Groupon is doing nothing to help. 🙁

    Finally got through to someone at redbox, who said it was a known issue and to call another redbox team.
    “I checked some information here and this is a known issue. Kindly contact our gift card team at 1-866-733-2693 and press 5 for further help adding your card”

    So don’t bother live chatting redbox, they said it is for disc support only. You have to call the number and press option 5. But since I don’t have another 30 minutes to wait and get hung up on, I will pass. 🙁

    I used the Redox Live Chat option and they said it’s a known problem and they are investigating it. They told me to contact Groupon.

    I just talked with a Redbox rep. She said they are having a problem with their system and to stop trying to register the cards until a couple hours have passed. So, I’m on the East Coast where it’s 3:10 p.m.

    Groupon says no refunds as in small print it is listed as final sale. 🙁

      I was able to get a refund via the online chat with Groupon. If I find out that doesn’t work, I will file a dispute. Ridiculous to think that they won’t refund. I told the guy I chatted with that the deal site I found the Groupon on had a lot of people complaining about the same issue and someone said may be a scam. Right after that was when he offered me either a complete refund or a Groupon credit good for only 24 hours.

    Well, I chatted with Daniel S. from Groupon Live Chat, and when I explained the problem he offered to refund me the full amount via the original payment method. Already got my email saying it’s been refunded. Less hassle this way.

    Just added a $20 gift card to my Redbox account. Bought using Groupon app, then went to the site listed on voucher. Said it added $20 but then my account balance shows $40.

    I purchased one this morning for myself and one as a gift and had difficulty adding the gifted card on to my husband’s redbox account. He did not have a credit card saved to his redbox account. I just logged back in under my account and was able to add it with no issues, and it doubled the amount of the gift card. I do have a credit card saved to my redbox account, so I’m unsure if that may have caused the original difficulty.

    Just spoke to Redbox. They are aware of problem. Since so many people are trying to redeem online the system is not working properly so they told me to try again in a few hours and I should be able to redeem online.

    Hey everyone! I tried to load my voucher by laptop & my phone. Neither method worked. I finally decided to contact Groupon. The fine print says that there are no refunds after you open the voucher. So using chat, they processed my refund, so I’m crossing my fingers that my credit will process correctly. This deal would have been great for my kids, but it is a hassle!
    On another note: Thanks Hip2Save for passing on such great deals. I have used ALOT of these money saving deals with success!

    Hey all, I just wanted you to know what I did in case it helps some of you with the problems you’re having. I had the same issues until I purchased a $5 redbox card on the redbox site, then I was able to add the $20 groupon offer. It doubled it for some reason as others have said, so it shows $45 as the balance. I hope this helps! Oh and I did it all from my laptop. Good Luck!

      Hooray, Michelle! Your method worked. I bought a $5 card and had it emailed to me. Then I added the $20 code and got a message saying that my card’s value is $20. However, when I clicked on “My account” I had $45. Pretty good! $25 for $45!!! Thank you, Michelle.

    I had the same issue when trying to add my card. I called and was told by Redbox customer service to wait a few hours. I just bought a $5 gift card from Redbox and I was able to add that one plus the Groupon one.

    I am still having the same problems this morning cannot add the card to my account. replyed back to groupon since they said to call Redbox. Redbox says it is Groupons problem. Frustrating!

      So glad I stopped by H2S for some more helpful feedback from the readers! I did just as Michelle suggested and added a $5 ecard which we would use anyway, and it then allowed me to add the Groupon card from yesterday! WOOT WOOT…it immediately changed the total to $45 dollars too! But, when I reserved a movie online it said my account total was now $23.39????? We’ll see what my account says once I pick up my movie at the box. Would have loved the additional money, but I’m satisfied with the Groupon deal for $20.00!

    I will be hesitant to do any more groupon/redbox deals because this was such a nightmare. But finally today, buying a $5 gift card first seemed to do the trick to let me add the groupon code. I’m aggravated that Redbox couldn’t fix the problem without me having to buy an additional gift card.

    Same here Jennifer. I gave in and took a chance by buying a $5 gift card and it worked for me. That makes the groupon deal no so great now. Won’t do any groupon for a long time.

    when you try to add the groupon to your redbox account on a desktop, it asks for the redbox card number and a pin number. Where is the pin number, and is the card number the 16 digidts under the “click to redeem online” bar. I can’t get this stupid thing to work on my redbox account as it needs a pin!
